Abstract:
A mounted substrate is a TCP of high definition and multi-output used in connection with a liquid crystal display panel of high definition and a great number of pixels. The TCP has a base film in whose aperture an LSI chip is installed. On the back surface of the base film, input and output wiring patterns are provided. A stress-absorbing portion is provided in the neighborhood of the LSI chip on an input-terminal side to be orthogonal to the input wiring patterns. The stress-absorbing portion absorbs a stress which occurs upon connecting a PWB and the input terminal of the TCP by a heating-and-pressurizing connection method. Therefore, it is possible by utilizing the TCP to obtain a thin liquid crystal module of high definition and a great number of pixels and with a high ratio of an available display area.

A membrane keyboard containing a larger size key pad label and a smaller size key pad labels; a pair of laminate sheets carry confronting conductor electrodes, each of the conductor electrodes being shaped to exactly follow the corresponding key pad label; and spacer sheet disposed between the pair of laminate sheets for electrically separating the confronting conductor electrodes. The spacer sheet is provided with a plurality of openings formed at positions corresponding to each of the conductor electrodes. The openings corresponding to the larger size key pad labels are divided into at least two sections through the use of, for example, a bridge layer extending across the opening, thereby uniforming the key actuation condition.

A printed-circuit substrate is described. A film-shaped support base having an electrical insulating property and elasticity is provided with a resin mold section for supporting an integrated circuit. A plurality of foil-shaped electric conductors are connected to the integrated circuit at their base side and are supported by the support base so as to extend toward the periphery of the support base at their tip side. The conductors are formed on a first surface of the support base and the first base faces electrodes of an external device. Exposed portions are provided by removing the support base in an intersecting direction of the foil-shaped electric conductors over an entire area of the support base between the integrated circuit and the periphery thereof, so that one portion of each foil-shaped electric conductor is exposed by separating the main support base supporting the integrated circuit and the periphery thereof. Supporting exposed portions, located on both sides of a set of the exposed portions in a direction orthogonal to the exposed portions, each have a width wider than that of each exposed portion.

A printed-circuit substrate is provided with: a film-shaped support base having an electrical insulating property and elasticity, which includes a resin mold section for supporting an IC; a plurality of foil-shaped electrodes which are connected to the IC and supported by the support base in such a manner as to extend toward the periphery of the support base; and an exposed portion which is provided by removing the support base in the direction orthogonal to the foil-shaped electrodes over an entire area of the support base between the IC chip and the periphery thereof so as to expose one portion of each foil-shaped electrode. In the case of connecting the foil-shaped electrodes to electrodes of a printed-circuit substrate by means of soldering, the tips of the foil-shaped electrodes are soldered to the respective electrodes by applying heat and pressure to a part of the support base located on the tip-side of the exposed portions of the foil-shaped electrodes. This arrangement makes it possible to improve the pliability of the exposed portion; therefore, even if the support base is miniaturized to have a thin width by shortening the exposed portion, the reliability of the connecting structure is improved between the tips of the foil-shaped electrodes and the electrodes.

There is disclosed an electrical signal input device suitable for use in a microwave oven or other household appliance for introducing a setting into those appliances through a simple one-touch actuation. The input device is of the membrane type which includes an actuator member composed of a generally flat plate having a plurality of elongated actuator sections on a surface thereof and carrying a plurality of first electrodes disposed wholly through an opposite surface thereof and facing against the plurality of the actuator sections, a substrate disposed in conjunction with the actuator member and having a plurality of second electrodes each corresponding to one of the first electrodes. The first and second electrodes are brought into electrical contact when the corresponding one of the actuator sections is depressed and becomes bent. It is sensed as to where the first and second electrodes are in electric contact along the length of the actuator sections.
