摘要: An AC-DC converter converts an alternating-current voltage, supplied from an external power supply, to a direct-current voltage higher than a peak voltage of the alternating-current voltage, and outputs the direct-current voltage to a first power supply line. In a normal control mode, a DC-DC converter steps down a voltage of the power supply line through on/off control over a switching element to charge a main battery. On the other hand, in an upper arm ON control mode, the DC-DC converter charge the main battery while the switching element is kept in an on state. On the basis of a state of external charging, a control device applies the upper arm ON control mode when a condition that upper arm ON control is applicable is satisfied, and applies the normal control mode when the condition is not satisfied.

摘要: A vehicle is equipped with a main battery, an auxiliary machinery battery, a high-capacitance DC/DC converter which converts power on an electric path between the main battery and a motor-generator for traveling to supply the converted power to the auxiliary machinery battery, a low-capacitance sub power supply which converts power on an electric path between the main battery and an external power supply to supply the converted power to the auxiliary machinery battery, and a control device which controls the sub power supply. The control device determines whether or not the DC/DC converter has an abnormality, and operates the sub power supply to perform precharging when it is determined that the DC/DC converter is abnormal. An auxiliary machinery battery voltage V2 when precharging has been performed is set to a value which is higher by a predetermined voltage a than an auxiliary machinery battery voltage V1 when precharging has not been performed.

摘要: A charger is configured to receive electric power from an external power supply and charge a main power storage device and a power storage device for auxiliary machinery. The charger includes a capacitor for smoothing charging power outputted to the main power storage device. A PM-ECU controls charging of the power storage device for auxiliary machinery by the charger such that the power storage device for auxiliary machinery can receive residual electric charge in the capacitor. The PM-ECU controls the charger, after the end of charging of the main power storage device by the charger, such that the residual electric charge in the capacitor is discharged into the power storage device for auxiliary machinery.
