Abstract: A principal film comprising a first polymeric component wherein the principal film has: (1) first and second major faces; (2) a land portion wherein the principal film is capable of thermally-induced self-forming; and (3) one or more modification zones, each comprising a central portion and a rim portion surrounding the central portion and being surrounded by land portion, wherein the average thickness of each rim portion is greater than the average thickness of the land portion surrounding the modification zone, the average thickness of each central portion is less than the average thickness of the land portion surrounding the modification zone and is greater than zero. Also methods for making such films and articles comprising such films.

Abstract: A method of providing an easy-clean, water-sheeting coating on a substrate includes: abrading a surface of a substrate using an abrasive article to provide an abraded surface having a surface roughness R?a#191 in a range of from 100 nm to 3500 nm, contacting a coatable composition with the abraded surface, and removing water from the coatable composition. The coatable composition comprises silica nanoparticles and has a pH of 7.5 or less. A kit including the abrasive article and the coatable composition is also disclosed.

Abstract: A coating composition is provided comprising a) an aqueous dispersion, having a pH of less than 7.5, of silica nanoparticles having average particle diameters of 40 nanometers or less, b) an alkoxysilane oligomer; c) a silane coupling agent, and d) optionally a metal β-diketone complexing agent. The compositions may be used to prepare coated articles wherein the coating is substantially uniform in thickness, durably adheres to the substrate, and provides hydrophilic and/or antireflection surface properties to the substrate.

Abstract: A thermally conductive LED assembly is disclosed. The thermally conductive LED assembly includes an elongate conductor cable having a first conductor and a second conductor extending along a length of the elongate conductor cable and a thermally conducting and electrically insulating polymer layer disposed between first conductor and second conductor and a second electrically insulating polymer layer is disposed on the first conductor or second conductor. In this way, the flexible applicator permits conformance to the surface contours, along with rigid point contact that provides uniform and consistent coverage of liquid material. Specifically, the devices comprise a handle (304) and an applicator (302) pliantly affixed to the handle, the applicator comprising a plurality of spaced geometries (308). The devices meter film-forming coating liquids onto contoured surfaces or three-dimensional structures to form uniform coatings and resulting uniform films.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a sectional warming blanket for patient warming having a structure comprising a first layer of material forming a bottom layer with openings to allow a profusion of air through the bottom layer, a second layer of material forming an upper layer wherein the upper layer is coupled to the bottom layer via a plurality of seals to form a plurality of interconnected air passageways, and an inlet located on the upper or bottom layers. In an embodiment, the sectional warming blanket further comprises an opening configured to receive a coupling device for coupling the sectional warming blanket to an additional sectional warming blanket. In another embodiment, the sectional warming blanket further comprises at least one outline formed from a portion of the structure, such that a section can be removed from the blanket and the blanket is re-sealed by a bonding mechanism along its periphery.
