    Abstract: An EGR device is provided with: an EGR passage for allowing a portion of exhaust gas from an engine to flow to an intake passage; an EGR valve for adjusting an EGR flow rate through the EGR passage; a throttle valve provided in the intake passage; and an electronic control device which calculates a fully closed reference intake pressure based on an operating state of the engine during EGR valve fully-closing, and which diagnoses an abnormality due to valve-opening locking of the EGR valve based on the calculated fully closed reference intake pressure. The ECU determines a foreign matter biting abnormality of the EGR valve based on the intake pressure, and based on the result of adding the fully closed reference intake pressure, calculated according to the rotational speed and the load of the engine, to an intake-pressure increase allowance calculated according to the rotational speed.

    Abstract: An EGR gas distributor for distributing EGR gas to branch pipes of an intake manifold includes a plurality of gas distribution passages arranged side by side for the branch pipes, a gas inflow passage and a gas chamber to deliver the EGR gas to each of the gas distribution passages. The gas inflow passage includes two, first and second, gas passage parts branched in a single stage. When the EGR gas distributor is mounted on the intake manifold, a passage cross-section of each gas passage part perpendicular to a central axis has an uppermost vertex and a lowermost vertex. The passage cross-sections of the gas passage parts are sized such that their lengths in a vertical direction are gradually longer from an upstream side of the first gas passage part to a downstream side of the second gas passage part.

    Abstract: In a fuel cell system, when fully closing an upstream-side valve, a controller performs controlled fully-closed opening-degree control that adjusts the opening degree of the upstream-side valve to a controlled fully-closing opening degree greater than zero by means of a drive mechanism. Upon determining that, during the controlled fully-closed opening-degree control, there is a leakage of oxidant gas in the upstream-side valve, the controller corrects the controlled fully-closed opening degree to the valve-closing side until reaching a zero-position opening degree at which the amount of leakage of the oxidant gas in the upstream-side valve becomes zero.

    Abstract: An engine, an intake passage to introduce intake air to the engine, an exhaust passage to discharge exhaust air from the engine, and a high-temperature duct connected to the intake passage to introduce high-temperature air around the exhaust passage into the engine are provided in an engine compartment. The intake passage includes an intake-air inlet port to introduce outside air as low-temperature air.     Abstract: An engine includes an injector, an ignition plug, a supercharger, an electronic throttle device, and an EGR apparatus. An EGR passage has an inlet connected to an exhaust passage downstream of a turbine and an outlet connected to the intake passage upstream from a compressor. A fresh-air introduction passage is arranged to introduce fresh air to a surge tank downstream from the electronic throttle device and a fresh-air control valve is provided to regulate a fresh air amount. When an ECU determines that the engine is under deceleration and under fuel supply, the ECU closes the electronic throttle device to a predetermined opening degree to scavenge EGR gas flowing from the EGR passage and remaining in the intake passage, opens a fresh-air control valve to a predetermined opening degree, and causes the ignition plug to retard an ignition timing.

    Abstract: A low-pressure-loop EGR apparatus of an engine includes an EGR passage to allow part of exhaust gas discharged from a combustion chamber to return as EGR gas to the combustion chamber, and an EGR valve to regulate a flow of EGR gas in the EGR passage. This passage has an inlet connected to an exhaust passage downstream of a turbine and an outlet connected to an intake passage upstream of a compressor. In the intake passage, an intake bypass passage is provided to connect an upstream portion and a downstream part from the compressor. An ABV is provided in the passage. To remove EGR gas remaining in the ABV, one end of a residual gas removal passage is connected to the intake passage downstream of a throttle valve and the other end of the same passage is connected to the ABV.
