摘要:
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a system and method for determining a likelihood of successful ventilator weaning for a patient undergoing mechanical or assisted ventilation. Specifically, embodiments provided herein include methods and systems for determining or predicting weaning readiness in a patient based on physiological parameters determined via photoplethysmography.
摘要:
Embodiments disclosed herein may include systems and methods for determining a patient's respiratory effort and blood oxygen saturation based on data acquired from a pulse oximetry sensor and analyzing the parameters in conjunction with each other. For example, the respiratory effort may be determined based on a photo-plethysmographic waveform generated from light attenuation detected by the sensor, and the blood oxygen saturation may be a pulse -based estimate of arterial blood oxygen saturation determined from the detected attenuation. Analysis of the parameters may enable detection and classification of apnea (e.g., obstructive or central) or another underlying cause for respiratory instability. Furthermore, the measured respiratory effort may be compared to respiratory effort supplied by a ventilator to ensure proper sensor placement before enabling automatic adjustment of ventilator settings.
摘要:
The present disclosure provides systems, devices, and/or methods for assessing body fluid-related metrics and/or changes therein. The disclosure further provides systems, devices, and/or methods for correlating body fluid-related metrics in a particular tissue with the corresponding whole-body metric. The disclosure also provides, systems, devices, and/or methods for assessment of such metrics to facilitate diagnosis and/or therapeutic interventions related to maintaining and/or restoring body fluid balance.

The lawn sprinkler system utilizes a single impulse type sprinkler head and at least one (preferably a series of) ground anchor receptacle(s) for the single sprinkler head. The ground anchors are permanently placed as desired, with the single sprinkler head and water supply hose being moved from one ground anchor to another to complete the watering task. Each ground anchor is provided with indicators to indicate the stop settings for the impulse sprinkler head when installed at that location. The user installs the sprinkler head with its attached hose in the selected ground anchor, and sets the sprinkler head stops in accordance with the indicators on the ground anchor. When the watering has been accomplished at that location, the water is turned off, the sprinkler head moved to another anchor, its stops are adjusted, and the water turned on to continue the process.

A sensor for physiological constituent detection may be adapted to include a mucoadhesive. A sensor is provided that is appropriate for use on mucosal tissue. The mucoadhesive provides a mechanism for holding the sensor on the mucous membrane in order to measure physiological constituent levels in the tissue and blood.

According to various embodiments, a medical system and method for early detection of shock and/or sepsis may include devices configured to provide information about carbon dioxide and/or pH levels in a patient's tracheal tissue and in a respiratory path. Specifically, a relationship between carbon dioxide and/or pH in the tracheal tissue vs. respiratory gases (e.g., lung gases) may be used to determine if a patient is at risk of developing shock or sepsis. In certain embodiments, if carbon dioxide in the tracheal tissue deviates from end-tidal carbon dioxide, a patient may be experiencing early stages of hypoperfusion associated with shock and/or sepsis.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to determining changes in a vasculature by analyzing changes in one or more attributes of a plethysmographic signal. According to certain embodiments, an apparatus may obtain plethysmographic signals prior to and subsequent to the administration of a vasoactive stimulus. The apparatus may include a processing unit configured to analyze and to compare attributes of the plethysmographic signals. The processing unit may correlate any changes in signal attributes to a change in a physiological condition of the vasculature (e.g., vascular tone/compliance). The apparatus may also include a display unit configured to present any changes in the vasculature as well as any alarms in response to a trigger from the processing unit.
