The coating layer bonds the sheets together to prevent formation of a permanent bond at high temperature processing while at the same time maintaining a sufficient bond to prevent delamination during high temperature processing.

摘要: A method of manufacturing a glass article comprises: (A) forming a first layer of catalyst metal on a glass substrate; (B) heating the glass substrate; (C) forming a second layer of an alloy of a first metal and a second metal on the first layer; (D) heating the glass substrate, thereby forming a glass article comprising: (i) the glass substrate; (ii) an oxide of the first metal covalently bonded thereto; and (iii) a metallic region bonded to the oxide, the metallic region comprising the catalyst, first, and second metals. In embodiments, the method further comprises (E) forming a third layer of a primary metal on the metallic region; and (F) heating the glass article thereby forming the glass article comprising: (i) the oxide of the first metal covalently bonded the glass substrate; and (ii) a new metallic region bonded to the oxide comprising the catalyst, first, second, and primary metals.

摘要: A coating material includes silicon and/or aluminum, hydrogen and any two or more of oxygen, nitrogen, carbon, and fluorine. The coating material exhibits a hardness of about 17 GPa or greater and an optical band gap of about 3.5 eV or greater. The coating material includes, in atomic %, silicon and/or aluminum in an amount of about 40 or greater, hydrogen in an amount in the range from about 1 to about 25, nitrogen in an amount of about 30 or greater, oxygen in an amount in the range from about 0 to about 7.5, carbon in an amount in the range from about 0 to about 10, and optionally, fluorine and/or boron. Articles including the coating material may exhibit an average transmittance of about 85% or greater over an optical wavelength regime in the range from about 380 nm to about 720 nm and colorlessness.

摘要: Delamination resistant glass containers with heat-tolerant coatings are disclosed. In one embodiment, a glass container may include a glass body having an interior surface, an exterior surface and a wall thickness extending from the exterior surface to the interior surface. At least the interior surface of the glass body is delamination resistant. The glass container may further include a heat-tolerant coating positioned on at least a portion of the exterior surface of the glass body. The heat-tolerant coating may be thermally stable at temperatures greater than or equal to 260° C. for 30 minutes.

The at least one of an optical film and a scratch-resistant film comprises an average hardness of 12 GPa or more. Further, the outer surface of the at least one of an optical film and a scratch-resistant film comprises a surface roughness (Rq) of less than 1.0 nm. Further, the at least one of an optical film and a scratch-resistant film comprises a total thickness of about 500 nm or more.

摘要: Embodiments of this disclosure pertain to articles that exhibit scratch-resistance and improved optical properties. In some examples, the article exhibits a color shift of about 2 or less, when viewed at an incident illumination angle in the range from about 0 degrees to about 60 degrees from normal under an illuminant. In one or more embodiments, the articles include a substrate, and an optical film disposed on the substrate. The optical film includes a scratch-resistant layer and a refractive index gradient. In one or more embodiments, the refractive index includes a refractive index that increases from a first surface at the interface between the substrate and the optical film to a second surface. The refractive index gradient may be formed from a compositional gradient and/or a porosity gradient.

摘要: A method of making a device substrate article having a device modified substrate supported on a glass carrier substrate, including: treating at least a portion of the first surface of a device substrate, at least a portion of a first surface of a glass carrier, or a combination thereof, wherein the treating produces a surface having: silicon; oxygen; carbon; and fluorine amounts; and a metal to fluorine ratio as defined herein; contacting the treated surface with an untreated or like-treated counterpart device substrate or glass carrier substrate to form a laminate comprised of the device substrate bonded to the glass carrier substrate; modifying at least a portion of the non-bonded second surface of the device substrate of the laminate with at least one device surface modification treatment; and separating the device substrate having the device modified second surface from the glass carrier substrate.
