    摘要: A polyphenylene ether/polyamide resin composition comprising:(A) polyphenylene ether modified with an unsaturated carboxylic acid having (a) an ethylenically unsaturated double bond and (b) either a carboxyl group or an acid anhydride group,(B) 6,6-nylon,(C) 6-nylon, and optionally(D) a montanic acid metal salt.This composition is possesses good flowability, heat resistance, solvent resistance, dimensional stability, and moreover good releasability from a mold and recyclability on the basis of advantages of polyphenylene ether (PPE) and polyamide, and can be used for manufacturing automobile parts such as wheel caps, fenders, bumpers and spoilers, or housings for office automation machines, etc.

    摘要: An optically active compound of the general formula (1) useful as a chiral dopant and use thereof, wherein each of m and n is independently an integer of 4 to 8, A is —Ph—COO—Ph—, —Ph—Ph—COO—, —Cy—COO—Ph—, —Ph—OOC—Ph—COO—, —Ph—OOC—Cy—COO—, —Ph—OOC—Np—COO— or —Np—OOC— in which —Ph— is a 1,4-phenylene group, —Cy— is a trans-1,4-cyclohexylene group and —Np— is a 2,6-naphtylene group, and C* is an asymmetric carbon atom. Having a helical twisting power (HTP) of at least 9 and having a property that the helical pitch induced decreases with an increase in temperature, the optically active compound of the present invention has an excellent value as a chiral dopant for a nematic liquid crystal.

    摘要: A process, advantageous in producibility, for the production of a vinyl compound containing very small amounts of ionic impurities and hydrolysable halogens, which is capable of curing by means of heat and/or light and giving a cured product having excellent dielectric characteristics and heat resistance, which process can efficiently remove a generated salt and comprises reacting a non-protonic polar solvent solution of a specific bifunctional phenylene ether oligomer with a vinylbenzyl halide in the presence of an alkoxide of an alkali metal, wherein the thus-obtained reaction solution is acidified with a specific amount of an acidic substance, then a salt generated is removed, an alkali substance containing a specific amount of an alkali metal is added to the thus-obtained solution, then a salt generated is removed, and the thus-obtained solution is mixed with water or a water-alcohol mixed solution, to precipitate a solid.
