A hydrogen storage material having improved hydrogen absorbtion and desorption kinetics is provided by adding graphite to a complex hydride such as a metal-doped alanate, i.e., NaAlH4. The incorporation of graphite into the complex hydride significantly enhances the rate of hydrogen absorbtion and desorption and lowers the desorption temperature needed to release stored hydrogen.

An Integrity Server computer for economically protecting the data of a computer network's servers, and providing hot standby access to up-to-date copies of the data of a failed server. As the servers' files are created or modified, they are copied to the Integrity Server. When one of the servers fails, the Integrity Server fills in for the failed server, transparently providing the file service of the failed server to network clients. The invention provides novel methods for managing the data stored on the Integrity Server, so that the standby files are stored on low-cost media such as tape, but are quickly copied to disk when a protected server fails. The invention also provides methods for re-establishing connections between clients and servers, and communicating packets between network nodes, to allow the Integrity Server to stand-in for a failed server without requiring reconfiguration of the network clients.

A very low density polyethylene (VLDPE) film is disclosed. The film has a high average heat seal strength and physical strength. The VLDPE has a density within the range of about 0.880 to 0.914 g/cm3. The film has a seal initiation temperature lower than or equal to 95° C. and an average heat seal strength greater than or equal to 1.75 lb/in. The film has a machine-direction (MD) modulus greater than or equal to 12,000 psi. The film can be used as a monolayer film or as a layer of a multilayer film. It is suitable for heat sealable bags and many other applications.

An ethylene polymerization process is disclosed. Ethylene is polymerized in two slurry reaction zones with a C6-C10 alpha-olefin in the presence of a single-site catalyst capable of making a high molecular weight polyolefin. The process yields medium density and linear low density polyethylene having a bimodal molecular weight distribution and a melt index from about 0.10 to about 0.80. Films from the polyethylene have superior impact properties.
