    摘要: An engine control system stores data indicating a monitor frequency ratio for each failure diagnosis target item in EEPROM and standby RAM being backed up by a battery. The failure diagnosis target items are designated based on Rate Base Monitor Method. A data item of the data indicating a monitor frequency is incremented by one, at one time at the maximum, for one operation period of the system. When the system starts its operation, whether a value S [i] in standby RAM is greater by one than a value E [i] in EEPROM is determined for each data item. When the determination is affirmed for a given data item, it is determined that storing of the given data item is not completed in EEPROM for the preceding operation period. The value S [i] is thereby written in EEPROM.

    摘要: In a vehicle diagnosis information communication system, electric power is supplied from a battery to a vehicle control computer mounted on the vehicle during a period of vehicle operation, while the electric power is supplied to a radio communication unit mounted on the vehicle irrespective of the vehicle operation. The computer transmits a vehicle information such as engine diagnosis result to the radio communication unit through a communication line. The radio communication unit communicates the received vehicle information to an external site of communication in response to a request of the information form the external site of communication irrespective of the supply of the electric power to the computer. Preferably, the supply of the electric power from the battery to the computer is maintained for a predetermined period after the vehicle operation.

The printed circuit board includes a through hole extending from a first surface to a second surface of the printed circuit board, a surface land disposed on the first surface, and an insertion land integrally disposed on a sidewall of the through hole and on a periphery around the through hole. The surface section is coupled with the surface land through a solder. The insertion section is disposed in the through hole and is coupled with the insertion land through the solder.     摘要: In a control information rewriting system, a rewriting device for vehicle ECUs and a control center are provided. A function f necessary for the rewriting device to access the ECUs is stored the control center. When data communication is carried out by way of a telephone line network, the control center acquires ID information from the rewriting device and acquires a telephone number of the call origin. When the association relationship between this ID and telephone number matches an association relationship stored in the database, the control center determines the rewriting device to be a legitimate one. Only when the control center determines that the rewriting device is a legitimate one, it transmits the function f to the rewriting device to enable rewriting of control information of the ECUs.

    摘要: A connector body has leg portions and lead terminals protruding therefrom. The lead terminals are fixed to a flexible member to be electrically connected to conductive paths on the flexible member. The flexible member has a free end portion, and the free end portion is soldered to the printed circuit board so that the conductive paths thereon are electrically connected to a wiring pattern on the printed circuit board. The free end portion has through holes and the leg portions of the connector body are inserted into the through holes. Accordingly, the positioning of the flexible member is performed readily and accurately, and reliability of soldered portion is improved.

    摘要: In a diagnostic method and apparatus for a vehicle, a transponder for performing a communication with an external receiver and an engine ECU are connected on a communication line. During a first inappropriate period in which noises are supposed to occur on the communication line due to engine starting or a second inappropriate period in which a processing load necessary for a control is supposed to be high when the engine speed is high or a load is high, even if there is a request for outputting abnormality information from the transponder, the engine ECU does not respond to the request. On the other hand, when it is not during the first and second inappropriate periods, the ECU responds to the output request from the transponder.

    摘要: An electric control unit may include a behavior check unit, a drive information store unit, a classify unit, a count unit and a condition set unit. The behavior check unit determines whether a vehicle behavior is generated by comparing the vehicle behavior with a detection condition. The drive information store unit stores information of the vehicle behavior in a memory unit drive when the vehicle behavior is generated. The classify unit classifies the vehicle behavior into one of a plurality of behavior classes. The behavior classes are arranged to classify the vehicle behavior according to a magnitude of the vehicle behavior. The count unit controls a counter for each behavior class according to the classification of the vehicle behavior. Based on the counters of each of the behavior classes, the condition set unit sets the detection condition as a boundary condition of one of the behavior classes.

    摘要: A plurality of electronic control units such as engine ECU, navigation ECU and meter ECU as well as a transponder unit is provided in a vehicle so that those control units communicate with each other through a communication line. Each unit stores therein a vehicle identification code which varies from vehicle to vehicle. Each unit checks whether the vehicle identification code is stored in response to a turn-on of power supply. One control unit which does not store the vehicle identification code, it requests a transmission of the vehicle identification code stored in other control units of the vehicle. The other control units responsively transmit the respective stored vehicle identification code to the one control unit. The one control unit, receiving the vehicle identification code writes the transmitted vehicle identification code into its non-volatile memory. Each unit not only controls a vehicle-mounted device, but also diagnoses the vehicle-mounted device. The diagnosis result is transmitted from the transponder unit to an external management station through a radio communication together with the stored vehicle identification code, so that the management station may determine to which a repair instruction should be issued.
