摘要: Disclosed is a welded can having at least the inner face side of a weld seam covered with a composite film of a thermoplastic resin, wherein the thermoplastic resin composite film comprises (I) an innermost layer, located on the inner face side of the can, of a thermoplastic polyester having a molecularly oriented crystal and comprising a dibasic acid component content of at least 90 mole % of terephthalic acid and a diol component containing at least 90 mole % of ethylene glycol, said innermost layer (I) overlayer (II) a seam-contacting layer, located on the seam side, of a thermoplastic copolyester containing in the chain molecule a dibasic acid component containing 40 to 95 mole % of terephthalic acid and 0 to 40 mole % of isophthalic acid and a diol component containing ethylene glycol and butane diol in a total amount of 65 to 100 mole % at a molar ratio of from 5/95 and 80/20 or a blend of such copolyesters, and the composite film comprising the layers (I) and (II) has an elasticity modulus of 5 to 220 kg/mm.sup.2 at a temperature lower by 20.degree. C. than the softening temperature of the resin of the layer (II).

摘要: A metal vessel has a metal bottomed cup-shaped lower member and a metal cup-shaped upper member, the upper and lower members being bonded together by a circumferential side seam. The upper member has a pouring mouth having a small diameter in the central portion thereof. The metal vessel is formed by lap-bonding the circumferential open ends of both the upper and lower members. The side wall of the upper member is formed by subjecting a primer-coated tin-plated steel sheet to draw forming at a side wall plastic forming ratio R of from 1.1 to 1.8; the side wall plastic forming ratio R being defined by the following formula: ##EQU1## wherein W stands for the weight (g) of the blank of the upper member, t stands for the thickness (cm) of the blank of the upper member at the side wall, .rho. stands for the density (g/cm.sup.3) of the blank of the upper member, D.sub.0 stands for the inner diameter (cm) of pouring mouth of the upper member, and D.sub.1 stands for the average inner diameter (cm) of the side wall.In the circumferential bonded portion, the side wall of the lower member is bonded to the side wall of the upper member through an organic adhesive interposed between a primer coating applied to the side wall of the lower member and a primer coating applied to the side wall of the upper member. The bonding strength and resistance to leakage of the lap-bonded circumferential side seam are improved.

摘要: A score line defining a portion to be opened is formed on a chromated surface treated steel plate coated with an epoxy type primer so that the score line is cut to the middle of the steel plate in the thickness direction thereof, and an opening tab is bonded and secured to the portion to be opened of the steel plate through a bonding fulcrum composed of a thermoplastic adhesive consisting of amide recurring units and/or ester recurring units so that the push-tearing top end of the opening tab is located on the score line.

摘要: An easily openable closure adapted to be fixed to a can body by seaming. The closure comprises a closure body of a rigid metallic material, a score formed therein reaching halfways in the thickness direction of the metallic closure body for defining a portion to be opened, and an opening tab provided near a score shearing starting point through a bonding support. The bonding support is comprised of a polyamide-type adhesive containing 6.1 to 15.0 main-chain carbon atoms on an average per amide group and having a crystallinity of 15 to 40% and a dynamic modulus, determined at a temperature of 25.degree. C. and a relative humidity of not more than 30%, of 0.8.times.10.sup.10 to 3.3.times.10 .sup.10 dynes/cm.sup.2.

摘要: A process for manufacturing the butt-welded cans comprises the steps of applying a 0.5 to 3.5 .mu.m thick organic resin film for preventing the adhesion of melted metal particles to at least a 1-mm-wide region from the butt-weld portion edge of at least the inner surface of a steel plate can blank, and butt-welding the edges of the can blank by the use of a laser, or alternatively applying a 0.5 to 7.0.mu.m thick organic resin film, butting the edges of the can blank, and laser-welding the butted edges while a cooling device is brought into contact with the butted edges from the inner side of each can. In this case, it is preferred that the coating material having high thermal decomposition resistance is applied to the whole outer surface of each can, and the weld portion is then butt-welded by means of a CO.sub.2 laser. The aforesaid coating material have the high resistance to thermal decomposition and is the material in which the temperature at which a thermogravimetric weight reduction ratio of the coating material reaches 50% is 470.degree. C. or more, i.e., the coating material comprising a phenolic resin or fluoride resin, or a coating material containing a polyorganosiloxane, metallic oxide or metallic powder.

摘要: There is here provided butt-welded cans made of steel plates having a carbon concentration of 0.02 to 0.09% by weight, the aforesaid butt-welded cans being characterized in that a coating film for preventing the adhesion of melted metal particles is applied to at least the inner surface of the weld portion and its vicinity of each can, and a carbon concentration index I of the weld portion satisfies the formula (1)I=(Iw/Ic).times.10.sup.3 .ltoreq.15 (1)wherein Iw is a K.alpha. X ray intensity, of carbon in the weld portion, measured by the EPMA method, andIc is a K.alpha. X ray intensity, of carbon in graphite, measured by the EPMA method.

摘要: A metal can body of improved impact resistance of the body wall is formed by drawing and/or pressing subsequent to preliminary coating of an organic resin on at least one side of the metal surface that becomes the inner surface of the can body. The main component of the organic resin coating is a polyester resin containing oriented crystals. The intrinsic viscosity (IV) of the polyester layer is 0.60 or higher. Parameter A representing the ratio of axial orientation in the direction of the can height is A.gtoreq.0.40. and Parameter B representing the degree of plane orientation of axially oriented crystals in the direction of the can height is B.gtoreq.0.00.
