    Abstract: A throttle assembly for an engine may include a remote throttle lever, a sensor, and a terminal. The remote throttle lever may be coupled physically to a user input device and operable to be moved under control of the user input device. The sensor is configured to detect a position of the remote throttle lever and generate an output signal indicative of the position of the remote throttle lever. The terminal configured to provide the output signal to a controller of the engine.

    Abstract: An in-tank fuel pump assembly and mounting system is disclosed which may be configured for mounting inside a fuel tank. The assembly includes a pump housing, pump mounted to the housing, and pressure relief valve. The housing may comprise upper and lower pump housing units coupled together. The upper housing unit is configured for mounting to a tank opening, which in one implementation may be the fuel fill opening. The lower housing unit extends into the tank to approximately the bottom of the tank. A fuel fill fluid pathway is created through the housing for adding fuel to the tank while the pump assembly remains in situ. The upper housing unit may include a removable fuel cap. The pump is capable of pressurizing the fuel to pressures suitable for use in fuel injection type engines. A resiliently deformable in-tank fuel filter may be coupled to the pump.

    Abstract: A balance system for a single cylinder engine is described. The single cylinder engine generates forces, that if left unbalanced, cause significant vibrations or movement to the single cylinder engine and devices driven by the single cylinder engine. The balance shaft includes a primary balance shaft for a first type of forces and at least one secondary balance shaft for a second type of forces. The secondary balance shaft is driven directly by the primary balance shaft. In one example, only one secondary balance shaft may be used, which may leave some forces unbalanced but is more space and cost effective. In another example, two or more secondary balance shafts may be included in a drive chain such that one secondary balance shaft drive the next secondary balance shaft.

In one aspect, an air intake assembly includes a screen defining a plurality of air passage holes therein, a fan, a flywheel, a crankshaft, and a screen support member coupled to the screen. The fan, the flywheel and the screen support member are coupled to the crankshaft with a single fastener, and the screen, the fan, the flywheel, the crankshaft and the screen support member all rotate together. In one aspect, the screen support member supports the screen a distance away from the fan such that the screen is completely spaced-apart from and does not engage the fan. In one aspect, a screen support member includes a base near one end of the screen support member and a plurality of coupling locations near a second end. The screen couples to the screen support member at the plurality of coupling locations.
