摘要: Compounds are provided that complex with the modulating domain of erythropoietin receptor (EPO-R) for use with EPO-R to determine the presence of EPO-R, the ability of other molecules to bind to the modulating domain in competitive assays and to induce a signal by EPO-R into a cell when bound by the subject compounds in a physiological environment. The compounds are characterized by having a six-membered heterocyclic ring comprising at least one nitrogen atom and include substituted triazolopyrimidine, pyridazinone, pyridine and piperidine.

摘要: Oligopeptides having an amino acid sequence corresponding to a receptor's extracellular domain, and having sequence similarity to regulatory peptides from MHC class I antigens, enhance or replace the physiological response of ligand binding to the corresponding receptor. The oligopeptides are used in diagnosis and therapy of diseases that involve inadequate or inappropriate receptor response as well as in the screening of drug candidates that affect surface expression of receptors. Also useful for drug screening is a modified receptor molecule, where the sequence corresponding to the regulatory peptide is modified or deleted.

摘要: An image-changing signboard comprising an upper and a lower horizontal frame member (12, 14) having a substantially U-shaped cross-section. A plurality of vertical bar-shaped display elements having a triangular cross-section are rotatably mounted in the upper and lower frame members. Individual gear units (26, 32) are mounted in one (12) of the horizontal frame members for rotating a respective display element (18). A drive motor (20) is connected to a common drive shaft (24) for simultaneously rotating respective gear units (26, 32). A plurality of gear units (26, 32) are mounted on a common mounting plate (22) so as to form a drive module, which is slidably mounted on tracks (40) in one (12) of the U-shaped horizontal frame members and which form a bottom plate bridging the gap between the legs of the frame member (12) and facing the signboard display.

摘要: A bonnet bumpstop for use on an automotive vehicle is formed with a first component having a support part for supporting a bonnet on the vehicle in the vertical direction during normal operation when the bonnet is closed against the automotive frame, a second component attachable to the vehicle frame, and a member interconnecting the first and second components to each other. When the bonnet bumpstop incurs a force greater than a predetermined value, such as a force transmitted from a bonnet to the bonnet bumpstop, the bonnet bumpstop is collapsible by substantially instantaneous neutralizing of the interconnection between the first component and the second component. At least a part of the first component, including said support part, is then freed to be move relative to the second component so as to allow the bonnet to move downwardly in case of an impact between an object and the bonnet.
