摘要: A method of controlling an internal combustion engine employs a microcomputer to control the fuel supply to the engine as well as the ignition timing thereof on the basis of measurement of the air quantity fed to the engine. For measuring the air quantity charged to the engine with high accuracy, the intake air flow fed to the engine is sampled in synchronism with the pulsating variation thereof. A value obtained by averaging the sampled values is used as the intake air quantity on the basis of which the fuel supply and the ignition timing are arithmetically determined.

摘要: A method of controlling, electronically, the operation of an internal combustion engine on the basis of results of arithmetic operations of digital control quantities derived from detected operating conditions of the engine through digital processing operations. The digital processing operations are divided into a number of tasks in dependence on the control functions to be performed. The method comprises a step of setting an activation request indication for a task through the execution of another task, a step of setting an activation request indication for a task through execution of the task itself, a step of searching the activation request indications for the individual tasks, and a step of executing the tasks to which the activation requests are issued on the basis of the effects of the tasks.

摘要: A sensor for detecting the internal pressure is provided in the cylinder to detect the combustion condition in the engine cylinder. In order to process the output of the sensor in accordance with the volume of the combustion chamber, the amount of change of combustion volume between timings of fetching the sensor outputs is multiplied by the sensor output, or the sensor output is fetched in accordance with the amount of change of combustion volume. In this way, the amount of work is detected from the sensor output. The ignition timing is subjected to feedback control in such a manner as to attain the maximum effective amount of work.

Current fed to the series circuit is controlled in accordance with the detected voltage from the detecting means, and output means is provided for producing a voltage in accordance with the voltage across the resistive element, wherein the output voltage of the output means indicates a flow rate of fluid.

摘要: An air-fuel detection system comprising a solid electrolyte, first and second electrodes formed on the surface of the solid electrolyte, a diffusion resistor formed on the first electrode for controlling the gas diffusion into the first electrode, and a detector circuit for detecting conditions of the engine exhaust gas to detect the air-fuel ratio thereof, wherein the detector circuit measures the electromotive force generated between the first and second electrodes during a first period, and controls a selected one of the voltage and current applied between the first and second electrodes to keep the electromotive force constant during a second period, the selected one of the voltage and current being produced as a signal representing the air-fuel ratio.

摘要: An air-fuel ratio in the lean range is detected by measuring a limiting current when oxygen diffused to a first electrode is pumped to a second electrode via a solid electrolyte. A stoichiometric air-fuel ratio is detected from electromotive force between first and third electrodes when oxygen is pumped from the first electrode to the third electrode. The invention is characterized by use of such three electrodes. Furthermore, an air-fuel ratio in a rich range is detected by either sending oxygen from the first electrode to the third electrode via the solid electrolyte and measuring a current when the electromotive force between the first and third electrodes is controlled to be constant, or measuring a current when the air-fuel ratio range is judged as "rich" from this electromotive force and the polarity of the impressed voltage at the time of lean detection is reversed.

摘要: An air-fuel ratio controlling apparatus for internal combustion engines including an oxygen sensor of hermetic type is disclosed. A pump cell of the oxygen sensor is connected with a power supply through a switch circuit for switching the direction of current flow. A control unit computes a setting of oxygen concentration of a reference gas layer of an exhaust gas sensor in accordance with the operating parameters. By a setting interruption, the control unit switches the switch circuit toward exhausting direction, drives the power supply and applies the exhaust current to the pump cell. The completion of exhaustion is detected, the switch circuit is switched to the suction, and the power supply is driven to apply the suction current to the pump cell. The setting is compared with the integration value of the suction current by a comparator circuit, or the suction current is fixed to control the drive time of the power supply. Alternatively, the current corresponding to the setting is applied for a predetermined time thereby to set the oxygen concentration of the reference gas layer to a setting in accordance with the operating parameters of the engine.
