The invention relates to a motor vehicle comprising a compressed-air braking system. Said vehicle has two braking cylinders, which can be impinged by compressed-air from a compressed-air reserve by means of a manually actuated brake valve. The braking cylinders have ABS pressure-control valves, which can be selectively impinged by compressed air from the compressed-air reserve, using a slip control valve. A stability sensor detects a motor vehicle position and a control device selectively supplies the slip control valve and the ABS pressure-control valves with compressed air, in accordance with the signals of the stability sensor.

The device includes two plates, with adjustable separation by way of at least two rollers running against each other and rolling on roller surfaces on facing inner sides of the plates. When the rollers are located in the region of a first section of the roller surfaces, the separation of the plates for bringing about clamping in an extended state is greater than the separation adopted by the plates to generate clamping in a withdrawn state when the rollers are located in the region of a second section of the roller surfaces. The position of the rollers relative to the roller surfaces may be altered by an actuator.

When the vehicle stops due to the service brake being applied, the service brake is released and the parking brake is applied as a function of a release criterion. On the basis of the dependency between at least the brake pressure (p) at the rear axle (HA) and the deceleration (z) of the vehicle after at least two preceding service braking operations, a critical deceleration value (Zabheb) is determined by interpolation or extrapolation, in which at least the brake pressure at the rear axle (HA) is less than a predefined brake pressure limit value.

The guide surface is guided along a radially inner cylinder wall of the brake cylinder with the center of the sphere lying on the center axis of the brake cylinder. The brake piston further has at least one elastic sealing element radially displaceable in a radially outer annular groove of the brake piston and delimiting an annular space together with a groove base of the annular groove on its side facing away from the radially inner cylinder wall. The annular space is fluidically coupled to the brake chamber such that contact pressure of the outer diameter of the sealing element against the radially inner cylinder wall of the brake cylinder depends on the pressure in the brake chamber.
