    摘要: An LED includes a circuit board (1), a light emitter (3) mounted on the circuit board (1), and a reflector (4) mounted on the circuit board (1), the light emitter (3) including an LED element mounted on the circuit board (1) and a light-transmitting resin (2) to seal the LED element. The reflector (4) is configured to surround the light emitter (3) and includes an opening (5) which passes through an upper surface and a lower surface is provided at a central position to allow insertion of the light emitter (3), and an inclined inner surface in the opening (6) configured to be upwardly broadened. A reflection film (7) is provided on the inclined inner surface (6) of the opening in the reflector. A outer peripheral edge is a non-reflection film constituted area (8) and, simultaneously, a terminal position identification mark (10) adjacent to the non-reflection film constituted area (8) are provided. The reflector (4) is cut along a dicing line on the non-reflection film constituted area (8) where the reflection film is not provided, thus preventing the reflection film (7) from being peeled off.

    摘要: The electronic-component-mounting board according to the present invention includes: a high-heat-dissipation substrate including a metal plate and a circuit pattern formed on a upper surface of the metal plate; an electronic component which is mounted on the high-heat-dissipation substrate and is electrically connected to the circuit pattern; and one external connection terminal which is disposed on the high-heat-dissipation substrate and provides electrical connection between the electronic-component-mounting board and an external device. The external-connection terminal is formed of a material having a thermal conductivity less than that of the metal plate and has at least one external electrode to which a lead wire is soldered. Therefore, the lead wire can be connected by soldering even on the high-heat-dissipation substrate. Accordingly, the reliability of the electrical connection is improved, and reduction in size and thickness of the electronic-component-mounting board can be achieved. In addition, the cost of the electronic-component-mounting board can be reduced.

    摘要: A semiconductor laser device is provided which is designed to prevent end surface optical damage, thereby permitting an increase in the output of the semiconductor laser. To achieve this, an active layer at the light emitting end surface portion of the semiconductor laser device is recessed inwardly by a distance between 50 nm and 300 nm (depending on the amount of etching) from the end surfaces of the crystal layers lying on both sides of the active layer. The recess serves to improve the heat dissipation of the active layer portion. This results in improving the amount of light output of the semiconductor laser which is possible without causing optical damage. A method for making the device is also provided. This method permits achieving the above-noted advantages simply by adding an etching step to the conventional semiconductor laser fabrication process, without requiring special equipment or technique.

    摘要: Apparatus for data transfer with a disk cartridge having a flexible magnetic disk rotatably housed in a protective envelope with some play in its own plane. A motor driven hub has a socket defined concentrically therein, with an annular disk bearing surface formed around the socket. Rotatably mounted to a hinged clamp arm, a clamp has a tapered collet engageable in the socket in the drive hub through a central opening in the magnetic disk, and a flange on the collet for clamping an exposed annular portion of the disk against the disk bearing surface. Being loose in the protective envelope, the magnetic disk has been liable to be caught in the drive hub socket by the tapered collet which travels along an arcuate locus into engagement in the socket. In order to preclude this possibility, the disk cartridge on being loaded in the apparatus is so positioned on the drive hub that the geometrical center of the disk cartridge is offset a specified distance from the axis of rotation of the drive hub in a direction away from the fulcrum of the clamp arm.
