A seal structure of a tie rod mounting portion in a center take-off type power steering apparatus structured such that respective inner ends of a pair of right and left tie rods are swingably connected to a leg portion of a T-shaped connection member. Both arm portions of the connection member are respectively connected to a rack shaft by a bolt passing through a guide shoe sliding within a notch groove formed along a lengthwise direction of a gear box housing, the respective inner ends of a pair of right and left tie rods laterally move in accordance with a lateral motion of the rack shaft while being guided by the guide shoe, a center portion of a dust boot is gripped between the guide shoe and both of the arm portions of the connection member by being passed through by the bolts. A collar is fitted between the guide shoe and the bolt and between the dust boot and the bolt so as to override between the rack shaft, the guide shoe and the dust boot, and one end portion of the collar protrudes from the dust boot so as to be brought into contact with the arm portion of the connection member, wherein a stepped recess portion to which both of the arm portions of the connection member are fitted, and an annular protruding wall which surrounds one end portion of the collar and is brought into contact with the arm portion of the connection member are respectively formed in the dust boot.

In an information processing system comprising an information processing equipment group and a facility equipment group, both an increase in performance and a reduction in power consumption are obtained, thereby achieving an efficient and flexible operational management. The plurality of information processing equipments are divided into a plurality of groups, each of which includes power feed equipments and cooling equipments. The operation management method for the information processing system includes: a procedure for acquiring, from each of the groups, operating information indicating the performances and the power consumptions of the information processing equipments, the power feed equipments, and the cooling equipments included in each of the groups; and another procedure for controlling, based on the operating information, the information processing equipments, the power feed equipments, and the cooling equipments included in each of the groups so that the performances with respect to the power consumptions become large.

It is an object of the invention to provide an information processing system which achieves efficient physical resource allocation to a virtual resource. An information processing system of the invention includes a plurality of physical resources mutually connected over a network, and an operating management computer which manages a virtual resource into which a plurality of physical resources are logically aggregated. The information processing system determines physical resources to be logically aggregated into and be allocated to a virtual resource on the basis of a resource usage amount of a workload to be processed by the information processing system and configuration information on the plurality of physical resources.

A method of manufacturing a radiation-detecting device including spaced first columnar scintillators, second columnar scintillators which are located between the neighboring first columnar scintillators and which are spaced from the first columnar scintillators, and photodetecting elements overlapping with the first columnar scintillators includes a step of preparing the substrate such that the substrate has a surface having an uneven section having protruding portions and a plurality of spaced flat sections surrounded by the uneven section and also includes a step of forming the first columnar scintillators and the second columnar scintillators on the flat sections and the protruding portions, respectively, by depositing a scintillator material on the substrate having the uneven section and the flat sections. The uneven section has recessed portions and satisfies the following inequality: h/d≧1 where h is the depth of each recessed portion and d is the distance between the protruding portions.

Information processing equipment and power/cooling facilities are managed together for power savings without degrading system processing performance. An operations management apparatus 60 is connected to an equipment group 201 to 20q and facilities 401 to 40u and 501 to 50v. The operations management apparatus 60 includes: a database 64 which stores a history of positions and operation information 61 of the equipment group of 201 to 20q and facilities 401 to 40u and 501 to 50v, and workloads 301 to 30r of the equipment group of 201 to 20q. An index value of workloads from the history is calculated and the workloads 301 to 30r are allocated to the equipments 201 to 20q. In addition, the operations management apparatus 60 allocates the workloads 301 to 30r.
