摘要: The invention relates to a method for modifying nanofibrillar cellulose composition, comprising—preparing fibrous dispersion of ionically charged nanofibrillar cellulose (NFC), and—applying heat treatment at a temperature of at least 90° C. to the fibrous dispersion until the viscosity of NFC starts to decrease. The viscosity of the heat-treated NFC is reversible by applying shear forces to the NFC.

摘要: Method for preparing a membrane from fibril cellulose includes supplying fibril cellulose dispersion on a filter layer, draining liquid from a fibril cellulose dispersion by the effect of reduced pressure through the filter layer that is impermeable to fibrils of the fibril cellulose but permeable to the liquid to form a membrane sheet on the filter fabric, applying heat on the opposite side of the membrane sheet to the membrane sheet while continuing draining of the liquid through the filter layer by pressure difference over the filter layer, and removing the membrane sheet from the filter layer as a freestanding membrane.

摘要: The present invention provides a method for determining carbonyl ratio and/or concentration of oxidized nanofibrillar cellulose in a sample. In accordance with the invention oxidized nanofibrillar cellulose comprised in the sample is enzymatically hydrolyzed into oxidized cellobioses which are specific markers to oxidized nanofibrillar cellulose. The cellobioses may be then analyzed and quantified to reveal the amount of oxidized nanofibrillar cellulose in the sample. A method for determining the concentration of oxidized nanofibrillar cellulose in a sample comprises steps of providing an analytical sample of material comprising oxidized nanofibrillar cellulose; hydrolyzing the analytical sample to breakdown products of oxidized nanofibrillar cellulose in presence of one or more enzymes; subjecting the breakdown products to a separation analysis to reveal the relative amounts of the breakdown products; and determining the concentration of oxidized nanofibrillar cellu-lose.
