Disclosed is a carbon fiber made from an acrylic fiber, the carbon crystal of which has a crystal size Lc of 15 to 65 .ANG. as determined by the wide angle X-ray diffractometry. This carbon fiber has regions with a lower crystallinity in the surface layer portion thereof than that of the central portion thereof, and the compressive strength .sigma..sub.cf (GPa) of the single filament thereof determined by the loop method satisfies formula (I):.sigma..sub.cf .gtoreq.10.78-0.1176.times. Lc (I).The carbon fiber is produced by ionizing in vacuo an atom or molecule which is solid or gaseous at normal temperature, accelerating the ionized atom or molecule by an electric field, and implanting the accelerated ionized atom or molecule in a bundle of carbon fibers.

There is provided a novel method for producing a nitride single crystal with both a rapid crystal growth rate and high crystal quality, as well as a novel autoclave that can be used in the method. The invention provides a method for producing a Ga-containing nitride single crystal by an ammonothermal method, comprising introducing at least a starting material, an acidic mineralizer and ammonia into an autoclave, and then growing a Ga-containing nitride single crystal under conditions wherein the temperature (T1) at the single crystal growth site is 600° C. to 850° C., the temperature (T1) at the single crystal growth site and the temperature (T2) at the starting material feeder site are in the relationship T1>T2, and the pressure in the autoclave is 40 MPa to 250 MPa, as well as an autoclave that can be used in the method.

A signal circuit conductor having a branch pattern is preferable. A large number of products can be easily manufactured with good size reproducibility. The multilayer printed wiring board is manufactured by selectively etching the copper of a cladding sheet manufactured by bonding a copper foil to a nickel foil with 0.1-3% reduction and forming a signal circuit conductor covered by an earth circuit and the wiring lead-out port.
