Abstract:
The proposed method for generating descriptors for the classification of texts provides a breakdown of more complex word forms by way of matching with the entirety of word forms occurring within a compilation of training texts. No morphological or linguistic knowledge base is necessary for the preferably cyclically continued breakdown, nor for the accompanying drawing up of stop word prefix and suffix lists. Simple morphological knowledge is provided by prescribing minimum requirements with respect to the form of descriptors and text sections. The method is particularly flexible and can be easily adapted to new applications. The method is also very error-tolerant and thus particularly suited for the classification of digitized texts which are produced from written texts by means of character recognition methods or from spoken texts by means of language recognition methods.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for removing NO.sub.x from the exhaust of internal combustion engines. The apparatus has a porous absorbent body saturated with a liquid alkaline electrolyte for absorption of NO.sub.x as nitrate and nitrite, in which body electrodes are distributed pairwise for electrochemical decomposition of the nitrate and nitrite to form nitrogen. The method uses the apparatus of the invention to decompose nitrates and nitrites into diatomic nitrogen.
Abstract:
In a reforming reactor suitable particularly for the water vapor reforming of methanol in mobile applications such as vehicles, a reaction space is filled with a catalyst pellet fill and has a movable reaction space wall which exerts a position-fixing pressure onto the catalyst pellet fill. According to the invention, a filling device is provided through which catalyst material can be filled from the outside into the reaction space through a passage opening formed in one of the reaction space walls.
Abstract:
An operating-element arrangement has a user-actuatable operating element which, when actuated in a first actuation direction, brings about an increase in the longitudinal direction of a motor vehicle. When actuated in a second actuation direction opposite to the first direction, the arrangement brings about a reduction in the longitudinal movement of the vehicle. The actuating force exerted on the operating element determines the change in longitudinal movement to be brought about. The rest position of the operating element is displaced in dependence on the longitudinal movement of the vehicle. The user consequently receives a perceptible and/or visible acknowledgement of the respective vehicle speed or of the deviation between the actual and the desired speed. Alternatively, the operating element can be configured isometrically, in that it remains in a fixed position irrespective of the actuating force.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process and an apparatus for obtaining a high-hydrogen, low-carbon-monoxide gas which is suitable for feeding low-temperature fuel cells in electric vehicles. A high-hydrogen gas mixture is generated by means of a methanol reforming reaction, using a Cu- and ZrO-containing catalyst material. The carbon monoxide content of the gas is decreased to a concentration of less than approximately 100 ppm by means of a selective methanization using a Ru- and TiO.sub.2 -containing catalyst material and/or by means of a selective oxidation using a Pt- and TiO.sub.2 -containing catalyst material.
Abstract:
In a method of controlling adjustable operating parameters of an internal combustion engine with direct fuel injection which includes at least one cylinder having a piston delimiting a combustion chamber, a fuel injector and a spark plug, wherein air supplied to the combustion chamber through an air intake passage forms with the fuel injected by the fuel injector a fuel/air mixture which is compressed and produces a plasma cloud which is then ignited by a spark generated between the electrodes of the spark plug, the ionization degree of the plasma cloud is measured and an ionization signal is formed and supplied to an electronic control unit where it is utilized to control at least one operating parameter of the internal combustion engine.
Abstract:
An ergonomically shaped exterior contour of a vehicle interior handle area, support area, or resting area is provided. The contour is formed by a flexible shaped element filled with an electro-rheologic fluid to which an electrical circuit operable from the interior is connected to reduce or increase the internal friction of the fluid to accommodate changes in shape of the contour.
Abstract:
The invention provides a device for determining the engine load for an internal combustion engine, such device having an input channel for receiving an item of engine speed information, as well as an intake manifold pressure sensor and an air mass flow rate sensor arranged upstream of a throttle valve, and/or a throttle valve angle sensor. The engine speed is fed to a Kalman filter as an input value and at least one of the three variables intake manifold pressure, throttle-valve air mass flow rate and throttle valve angle is fed as a variable measured by the respective sensor. The Kalman filter derives estimated values for the variables intake manifold pressure and throttle-valve air mass flow rate, with which the air mass flowing into a respective cylinder of the engine per working cycle is determined.
Abstract:
In a method and apparatus for selective catalytic oxidation of carbon monoxide, the gas mixture and an additionally added oxidizing gas are conducted through a reactor containing the catalyst. Oxidizing gas is added at several points along the mixed gas flow path with a controlled or regulated through flow volume. The mixed gas stream is cooled passively by static mixing structures located in the inlet area of the CO-oxidation reactor. By controlling exothermal CO oxidation along the reactor path, a very variable process guidance is provided, that can be adjusted to individual situations.
