摘要: The present disclosure provides a drug delivery composition and a method of controlling a drug delivery rate of an analyte sensor. The drug delivery composition includes a copolymer including a plurality of copolymer chains, where each of the plurality of copolymer chains comprises a backbone including a plurality of hydrophilic units and a plurality of hydrophobic units, a crosslinker, and a therapeutic agent, where the crosslinker crosslinks at least a portion of the hydrophilic units of respective copolymer chains to form charges, and the hydrophobic units of the copolymer interact with the therapeutic agent through the non-polar intermolecular interaction. The drug delivery composition continuously releases the therapeutic agent at a set or predetermined drug delivery rate for a set or predetermined period of time.

摘要: In one aspect, the disclosure relates to compositions, methods, and devices pertaining to polymeric nanoparticle compositions (pNP), pNP compositions comprising a therapeutic agent, devices comprising a drug-coated balloon comprising a disclosed pNP comprising a therapeutic agent, and methods for treating peripheral artery disease using the disclosed compositions and devices. In further aspects, the pNP comprises a poly (lactic-co-glycolic) acid possessing a positive charge for firm attachment to the balloon matrix, followed by adhesion to the negatively charged bilayer of the vascular wall. In still further aspects, the therapeutic agent comprises a resveratrol or derivative thereof, a quercetin or derivative thereof, or combinations thereof. 摘要: Synthetic amino acid-modified polymers and methods of making the same and using the same are disclosed. The synthetic amino acid-modified polymers possess distinct thermosensitive, improved water-erosion resistant, and enhanced mechanical properties, and are suitable of reducing or preventing formation of postoperative tissue adhesions. Additionally, the amino acid-modified polymers can also be used as a vector to deliver pharmaceutically active agents.

摘要: Embodiments of the disclosure include coatings comprising an oligomerized polyphenol layer. The oligomerized polyphenol layer can be used as an intermediate coated layer on a medical device that hydrogen bonds to a synthetic or natural polymer, which in turn can be used as a top coat or further associated with another coated layer. The multilayered coatings can provide properties such as hemocompatibility or lubricity. In other embodiments, the oligomerized polyphenol layer is used on a medical device as a hemostatic layer configured to contact blood and promote coagulation. The oligomerized polyphenol layer can also be used on the inner surface (e.g., inner diameter) of a medical device to prevent bacterial adherence. The oligomerized polyphenol layer can also be used on the surface of a in vitro diagnostic article, or a cell culture device to, promote adsorption of a biological molecule.

摘要: The present invention relates to process for preparing a drug delivery composition comprising the steps of a) preparing a masterbatch comprising a drug and a first polymer by (i) extruding the first polymer, wherein said first polymer has a melting temperature below 140° C.; and (ii) introducing the drug during extrusion of the first polymer, with a drug content between 0.1% and 90%, based on the total weight of the masterbatch; and b) introducing the masterbatch in a polymer-based matrix during production of the drug delivery composition, wherein step a) is performed at a temperature at which the first polymer is in a partially or totally molten state, and step b) is performed at a temperature at which both the first polymer and at least a polymer of the polymer-based matrix are in a partially or totally molten state.

摘要: Disclosed are a hyaluronic acid composition having permeation-promoting effects, a preparation method thereof and the use thereof. Provided is a hyaluronic acid composition, comprising: hyaluronic acid or a salt thereof, an acetylated hyaluronic acid or a salt thereof, and a hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid or a salt thereof. The hyaluronic acid composition of the present application has a small addition amount, can effectively facilitate the absorption of other active ingredients in a formula to achieve synergistic effects, has a small particle size, is uniform, has a fast dissolution rate, has an excellent absorption speed in a product, and is superior to hyaluronic acid treated by means of simple mixing in improving skin hydration. Compared with traditional penetration promoters, the hyaluronic acid composition of the present application causes no damage to the skin and is safe.

摘要: Implantable medicine delivery systems, devices, and associated methods are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a method of enhancing bone regeneration in a human or animal body includes implanting a three-dimensional scaffold in the human or animal body. The three-dimensional scaffold is constructed from a porous ceramic material, a ceramic-polymer composite of a biodegradable ceramic material and a polymer, or a ceramic-polymer-metal composite of a biodegradable ceramic material, a polymer, and a metal and embedded with curcumin in the porous ceramic material, the curcumin at least partially coating an exterior surface of the porous ceramic material. The method also includes directly and controllably releasing the embedded curcumin into a circulatory system of the human or animal body according to a release profile, thereby achieving enhanced bone regeneration in the human or animal body.

摘要: According to the invention there is provided inter alfa a medical device for delivering a therapeutic agent to a tissue, the device having a solid surfactant-free particulate coating layer applied to a surface of the device, the coating layer comprising a therapeutic agent and at least one non-polymeric organic additive which is hydrolytically stable; wherein at least a proportion of the particulate coating layer comprising the therapeutic agent and the at least one organic additive melts as a single phase at a lower temperature than the melting point of the therapeutic agent and the at least one organic additive when in pure form; wherein the therapeutic agent is paclitaxel; and wherein the therapeutic agent, when formulated in the coating layer, is stable to sterilization.
