Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a powder bed including at least one pair of plates including a horizontally swinging perforated plate and a static perforated plate inside a packed bed or a moving bed that is aerated from below. In some embodiments, the swinging perforated plate may be configured to move horizontally relative to a horizontal plane so as to transmit a horizontal swinging motion to the powder. In some embodiments, the powder bed including the at least one pair of plates may improve uniform gas-solid contact in packed beds, moving beds, or multi-stage fluidized beds using highly cohesive, easily consolidated, or compacted powder. Further, in some embodiments, the powder bed may decrease consolidation and compaction of the powder in the powder bed.

A recycle reactor may be provided comprising a reservoir for accommodating a chemical hydrogen storage substance; the catalyst support; a screw conveyor for input and transport of the catalyst support; and a heating device with which the catalyst support can be heated. A method for releasing hydrogen from a chemical hydrogen storage substance may be provided.
Abstract:
An olefin polymerization process and apparatus wherein a fluid slurry comprising monomer, diluent and catalyst is circulated in a continuous loop reactor by two or more pumps. The process and apparatus allow operating the reaction at significantly higher solids content in the circulating fluid slurry. In a preferred embodiment, the fluid slurry is circulated by two impellers arranged so that the downstream impeller benefits from the rotational energy imparted by the upstream impeller. An olefin polymerization process operating at higher reactor solids by virtue of more aggressive circulation has improved efficiencies, particularly in larger-volume reactors.
Abstract:
A fluidized bed reactor is provided. The fluidized bed reactor includes a screw conveyor configured to penetrate through an upper portion of the fluidized bed reactor and to discharge solid particles to an outside from the fluidized bed reactor. The screw conveyor is configured to have an upper end protrude from the upper portion of the fluidized bed reactor and a lower end located at a height equal to or higher than a height of a distributor of the fluidized bed reactor.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a rotary disc device (1) in a rotary fluidised bed, the outer edge of said disc rotating inside, and faster than, the fluidised bed, thereby allowing: the rotation speed of the fluidised bed to be accelerated, solid particles and/or micro-droplets to be supplied to the fluidised bed or to the free central area, and different annular areas of the fluidised bed to be separated. The invention also relates to methods for transforming solid particles or micro-droplets on contact with the fluids flowing through the rotary fluidised bed or for transforming fluids on contact with solids in suspension in the rotary fluidised bed, using said device.
Abstract:
A process for the polymerization of one or more olefins under solution polymerization conditions to produce a polymeric solution, said process comprising contacting the produced polymeric solution with one or more antioxidant compounds before or concurrently with subjecting the polymeric solution to a devolatilization step to separate the polymer from the unreacted monomers.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a method for separating from the reactor effluent of an olefin oligomerization procedure those catalyst materials and polymeric by-products which can cause difficulties in the downstream processing of such effluent. Polymer by-products and catalyst in the effluent are separated from reaction products by flash vaporization utilizing an in-situ hot solvent which is contacted with the effluent and serves as the heating medium to promote this flash vaporization step. Subsequent processing of a liquid portion of the effluent which is left after flash vaporization involves recovery of catalyst and polymeric by-products therefrom in a steam stripping vessel. Also disclosed is a multiple reactor system which can be used for continuous trimerization of ethylene to 1-hexene while at the same time washing polymeric by-products from one of the reactors in the series using a wash oil solvent.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a mixing reactor for mixing a liquid and pulverous solid, clarification the solution that is formed and discharging the clarified solution from the mixing reactor, in the lower section of which a fluidized bed is formed. The invention also relates to a method for mixing a liquid and pulverous solid into each other in a fluidized bed, for clarification the solution that is formed and for discharging the clarified solution from the mixing reactor.

Abstract:
A process/apparatus is disclosed for continuously separating a liquid medium comprising diluent and unreacted monomers from a polymerization effluent comprising diluent, unreacted monomers and polymer solids, comprising a continuous discharge of the polymerization effluent from a slurry reactor through a discharge valve and transfer conduit into a first intermediate pressure flash tank with a conical bottom defined by substantially straight sides inclined at an angle to that of horizontal equal to or greater than the angle of slide of the slurry/polymer solids and an exit seal chamber of such diameter (d) and length (l) as to maintain a desired volume of concentrated polymer solids/slurry in the exit seal chamber such as to form a pressure seal while continuously discharging a plug flow of concentrated polymer solids/slurry bottom product of the first flash tank from the exit seal chamber through a seal chamber exit reducer with inclined sides defined by substantially straight sides inclined at an angle to that of horizontal equal to or greater than the angle of slide of the polymer solids which remain after removal of about 50 to 100% of the inert diluent therefrom to a second flash tank at a lower pressure.
