摘要: An irradiation assembly for additively manufacturing three-dimensional objects may include an irradiation device and a magnetic mounting device configured to displaceably support the irradiation device. The irradiation device may include one or more illumination elements respectively configured to emit an energy beam. The magnetic mounting device may include a magnetic slider element coupled to the irradiation device and a magnetic stator element couplable to a housing structure of an additive manufacturing machine. The magnetic stator element may include a displacement track configured to guide the magnetic slider element along a movement path above at least a portion of a construction plane of the additive manufacturing machine while the one or more illumination elements respectively emit the energy beam to selectively irradiate build material at specified regions of the construction plane.

The transport structure includes cavities into which components that use an external interface are inserted. A plurality of components are assembled and integrated into the vehicle. In an embodiment, the components and frame are modular, enabling reparability and replacement of single parts in the event of isolated failures.

摘要: A metals-based additive manufacturing machine and method are disclosed. The machine and method include a hybrid temperature monitoring system. The hybrid temperature monitoring system includes a Raman spectrometer, a single-element ultrasound transducer, and a phased-array ultrasound pair. The hybrid temperature monitoring system can generate a real-time three-dimensional temperature map of the melt pool and optionally a portion of the metal powder base and/or a formed portion of a desired artifact. The real-time three-dimensional temperature map can be used for optimizing the metals-based additive manufacturing process in real-time or during subsequent process runs.

The first energy beam and a substrate are configured to move relative to each other to fuse at least a portion of a material added to the surface of the substrate for forming a cladding layer on the substrate. The forging head is configured to forge the cladding layer during formation of the cladding layer. The second energy beam is configured to heat a forging area of the cladding layer.

摘要: A method for determining a set point for measurements from a temperature sensor of an apparatus for the layer-by-layer formation of a three-dimensional object from particulate material, and associated controllers. The method includes distributing a calibration layer of particulate material over a build bed surface; selectively applying absorption-modifying fluid to a reference area or a surrounding area thereof, on the build bed surface; (c) lowering the build bed surface to a calibration depth, (d) applying heat to the reference area using a moveable heat source while measuring the temperature increase of a sub-reference area over a duration of time and/or taking optical readings of an optical property of the sub-reference area over the duration of time; (e) determining the onset of fusion of the particulate material; and (f) applying the onset of fusion as the set point for subsequent temperature measurements.

摘要: An additive manufacturing system including a housing configured to contain a powder bed of material, and an array of laser emitters having a field of view. The array is configured to melt at least a portion of the powder bed within the field of view as the array translates relative to the powder bed. The system further includes a spatter collection device including a diffuser configured to discharge a stream of gas across the powder bed, and a collector configured to receive the stream of gas and contaminants entrained in the stream of gas. The collector is spaced from the diffuser such that a collection zone is defined therebetween, and the spatter collection device is configured to translate relative to the powder bed such that the collection zone overlaps with the field of view of the array.
