Abstract: Some embodiments of the present disclosure relate to an additively manufactured transport structure. The transport structure includes cavities into which components that use an external interface are inserted. A plurality of components are assembled and integrated into the vehicle. In an embodiment, the components and frame are modular, enabling reparability and replacement of single parts in the event of isolated failures.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a profile member for a suspended ceiling system, comprising forming a sheet metal material into an elongate T-shaped profile member with a web having two web side walls and a pair of oppositely disposed flanges projecting from a bottom portion of the web, and laser welding the elongate T-shaped profile member for providing a laser weld joint extending in a longitudinal direction of the T-shaped profile member and joining the two web side walls to each other. The step of laser welding comprises alternatingly performing a first operation and a second operation, the second operation being different from the first operation, whereby a laser weld joint is provided comprising along its extension alternating welded first sections associated to the first operation and second sections associated to the second operation. The present invention also relates to an elongate profile member provided with a laser weld joint.

Abstract: A weld joint assembly is provided. The weld joint assembly includes a first structural member having a first thickness. The weld joint assembly also includes a second structural member having a second thickness. The first thickness is different from the second thickness. The second structural member is connected to the first structural member through a weld joint. A plate is connected to the first and second structural members through the weld joint. The plate has a third thickness. The plate extends and abuts a surface of one of the first and second structural members and is welded thereto at outer edges of the plate leading away from the weld joint. At least a portion of the outer edge of the plate that is opposite to the weld joint is free of attachment to the surface.

Abstract: A prefabricated column assembly includes a hollow tubular column having a longitudinal axis. A gusset plate assembly includes a plurality of gusset plates connected to the column and extending laterally outward from the column in planes generally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the column. A first pair of the gusset plates extends laterally outward from the column along a first axis and defines a space for receiving an end portion of a first beam for mounting the first beam on the first pair of gusset plates. A second pair of the gusset plates extends laterally outward from the column along a second axis that is nonparallel and non-coincident with the first axis. Abstract: A bumper system including a bumper beam being cast from metal having a front panel and a back panel, extending between a first bumper beam end and a second bumper beam end. A plurality of reinforcing ribs integrally cast with the bumper beam extends between the front panel and the back panel defining a non-uniform cross-sectional profile along a portion of the bumper beam. The front panel includes a front center portion disposed between a pair of front side portions. The back panel includes a back center portion disposed between a pair of back side portions. The front center portion has a front center portion thickness greater than a back center portion thickness. Each of the front side portions has a front side portion thickness being less than a back side portion thickness of adjacent one of the back side portions. Method of manufacturing the bumper system is provided.

Abstract: A plate is continuously press-bent, into a shaped member having a recess opening at one surface (i.e., lower surface). Then, the plate is bent back by pressing, at the front and rear ends, covering the openings of the recess and a side frame having open cross sections, each with a gap, is thereby formed. In the forming step, the side frame is not welded and has open cross sections, each with a gap. The side frames are then subjected to the next step (i.e., step of assembling the seat frame). In the step of assembling the seat frame, the side frames and coupling members are welded together, constituting a substantially rectangular seat frame. As the side frames are so welded in step of assembling the seat frame, a rigid structure each having closed cross sections with no gaps is formed.
