    摘要: Systems and methods are disclosed for connecting an ingot to a wire saw with an ingot holder, a bond beam, and a bar. The bar has an angled mating surface that engages a recessed surface formed in a slot of the bond beam. Mechanical fasteners are used to connect the tee bar to the ingot holder. The angle of the mating surface with respect to the recessed surface of the slot prevents deformation of the bond beam and prevents compromising the integrity of the adhesive bond between the ingot and the bond beam.

    摘要: A method and a device for cutting a workpiece (1, 21) in a wire saw is described, wherein a workpiece (1, 21) is fixed in a wire saw by means of a mounting beam (2, 22). In the method according to the invention, the generation of a mark or a step on the cutting area along the cutting slit at the transition from the workpiece to the mounting beam (2, 22) is moved further to the edge of the cutting area or is avoided entirely. Therfor, the workpiece (1, 21) is held during the cutting operation in the wire saw by a mounting beam (2, 22) such that while one of the two piercing points (9; 29) lies on the surface of the workpiece (1, 21) and while simultaneously the other (10; 30) of the two piercing points (9, 10; 29, 30) lies on the surface of the mounting beam (2; 22), the piercing point lying on the surface of the workpiece is the entry side piercing point.

    摘要: In a travelling wire EDM apparatus for effecting a cut by electrical discharges on a workpiece blank by an electrode wire, the workpiece blank is supported by two support members mounted on a rotary table, one support member being disposed in the interior of the perimeter of the cutting path and the other support member being disposed exteriorly to the perimeter of the cutting path such as to support the two portions of the workpiece blank severed from each other during the cutting operation. A partial cut is first effected through the workpiece blank and the workpiece blank is subsequently angularly oriented to a different position by rotating the rotary table such that collision between any one of the electrode wire support arms and the workpiece blank support member disposed within the perimeter of the cutting path is prevented. The cut is continued along a cutting path corrected as a function of the new angular position of the workpiece, and at the end of the cut the portion severed from the workpiece blank is supported by the support member disposed within the perimeter of the cutting path and the remaining of the workpiece blank is supported by the other support member.

    摘要: Provided is a wire saw (1) that cuts an ingot (I) while swinging the ingot. The wire saw (1) includes a first driving block (100), a second driving block (110), and an ingot holder (120). When the first driving block (100) moves, the second driving block (110) moves in a direction perpendicular to a moving direction of the first driving block (100), and simultaneously the ingot holder (120) is swung. The ingot holder (120) is transferred to a z-axial direction in which the ingot is cut by a lifting block (73), and the lifting block (73) moves independently of the first or second driving block (100 or 1110). Thus, the ingot (I) can be swung separately from the lifting block (73), and be inhibited from moving left and right. Since only the first driving block (100) is controlled, easy control and a simple structure are provided.

    摘要: A sample preparation apparatus and method of preparing a rock sample using such an apparatus, as useful in connection with the digital numerical simulation of properties of the rock. The disclosed apparatus includes a fixably mounted diamond wire cutter. Three linear translation stages are coupled to a specimen holder. One of the translation stages moves the specimen in a direction parallel to the plane of the cutting wire. The other two translation stages move the specimen in different directions from one another, and when actuated together, advance the specimen into the wire for short distances in a direction out of the plane of the cutting wire. Short piecewise linear cuts are made in the specimen, to provide a sample of the desired shape with a small cross-section.
