摘要： The shear bonding method is configured to facilitate bonding of structures in an out-of-autoclave environment. The shear bonding method includes bonding a plurality of frame members to the interior of a tapered tailboom. The frames are located on a bayonet type tool. An adhesive pack is applied to each frame. The bayonet type tool is inserted into the tailboom until the adhesive packs come into contact with the interior walls of the tailboom. Conductive heating tiles are applied to the tailboom. The conductive heating tiles are controlled to achieve and maintain viscosity of the adhesive packs. During this period the bayonet tool is actuated so that the frames are translated in relation to the tailboom. The heating tiles are then controlled to achieve and maintain the adhesive at a requisite curing temperature.

First and second films are supplied to the wrapping zone. A plurality of flight bars are individually driven in a path at a variable speed. A sealing mechanism within the wrapping zone seals the first film to the second film at contact points to form a circumferential film unit substantially surrounding grouped articles within loops of second film and a corresponding portion of the first film, the film unit being shrinkable about the grouped articles to form a package. Related methods and subassemblies of the apparatus are disclosed.

摘要： An irrigation hose splice and method of making the same that permits used irrigation hose to be reinstalled and retrieved in the same manner as new irrigation hose. The method of splicing includes providing two segments of unjoined irrigation hose. Inserting a heat shield into a first segment to prevent its inner circumferential surface from fusing together when the first hose segment is later fused with a second hose segment. Inserting the first hose segment into the second hose segment, creating an area where the two segments overlap. Appyling heat and compression simultaneously at the overlapping area to fuse together the first and second hose segments, creating an irrigation hose splice which is composed of material from the first hose segment and the second hose segment that have been fused together.

摘要： A jointer for laminated tapes for use in the production of sheathed cables formed by longitudinally or helically wrapping cable cores with metal tapes laminated with plastic films and by joining the overlapped portions of said tapes by way of heat fusion is disclosed. The method comprises the use of pressing blocks consisting of metal material having a high heat conductivity and respectively having machined surfaces opposing in parallel to each other for the application of uniform pressure to both surfaces of the laminated tapes held therebetween. A heating piece is provided which is electrically insulated from and mounted to the bottom of the pressing block and having relatively high electric resistance and being supplied with electric current thereby pulse heating the portions of the laminated tapes to be spliced.
