A method for welding profiled elements in plastic material includes: preparing two profiled elements, arranged with respective weld zones facing one another; making a groove corresponding to at least one weld zone of the profiled elements, the grooving performed by a removal operation on a peripheral edge of at least one profiled element; heating the weld zones; coupling the zones to be welded to one another, pressing the profiled elements together to keep the zones to be welded in reciprocal contact. The coupling step includes: a sub-step of melting the zones to be welded into one another in order to define a welding bead; a sub-step of making a containing compartment defined by the groove, the welding bead being made internally of the containing compartment; and the step of arranging a containing presser in correspondence to the containing compartment for preventing exit of the welding bead from the compartment itself.

According to an aspect of the present disclosure, an adjustable induction foil sealing device is used to hermetically seal a container. The device can be adjusted to accommodate differently sized containers. The device includes a power supply cabinet, first and second rail assemblies and an adjustment assembly coupling the rail assemblies together and coupling the rail assemblies to the cabinet. Each rail assembly has an induction sealing coil and conductive contacts. The contacts on the rail assemblies are in electrical contact with the contacts on the cabinet. The adjustment assembly is configured to adjust the relative positions of the rail assemblies relative to each other and relative to the cabinet, while maintaining the electrical connection of the contacts.

Each section has a magnetic flux concentrator, such as a ferrite core. The disclosed blister sealer comprises a lightweight, tubular frame, detachable legs and a lightweight, modular turntable. Further disclosed is a sealer that is mountable on a table-top or other horizontal surface. Said disclosed turntable is height-adjustable; easily removable, and further includes an indexing means for stopping said turntable at predetermined angular positions. The disclosed press of the present blister sealer may be height- and pressure-adjustable, and said frame may further include a strut to further strengthen said frame when greater pressures are desired from said press. It is further disclosed that said sealer include a unique heater plate assembly that permits easy access to the heating coils and further may include a protective sheath to prevent damage to said heater plate assembly. Still further disclosed is a protective guard to protect the user from the heater plate assembly by a guard comprising a metal top and three plastic side panels that are easily replaceable. In a further embodiment of the present invention, a rotary collapsible blister sealer that can seal clamshell packages around items is also disclosed.

A method and apparatus for fusing a bell connector to the end of a corrugated thermoplastic pipe are disclosed in which an expandable mandrel grips a preformed bell and a pipe support grips a pipe co-axial with the longitudinal axis of the bell. A pipe trimmer for facing the pipe end may be moved into and out of the axis of the pipe if necessary for trimming the pipe end to provide a uniform planar flange face and a heater, combined with a supporting flange, moved sequentially into and out of the axis of the pipe and bell for heating the opposed faces of the trimmed end of the pipe and the end of the bell to a desired fusing temperature. Upon heating of the opposed faces of the bell and the pipe to a predetermined fusing temperature, the said faces of the bell and the pipe are abutted against each other, with the back side of the corrugated pipe flange face fully supported by the supporting flange, i.e. backing ring, at a predetermined pressure for a time sufficient to fuse the bell and pipe together.

A machine for use in butt fusing in axial alignment plastic pipe having a selected maximum diameter is adaptable by the use of specially designed inserts secured in the lower portions of fixed and moveable clamps, the inserts serving to elevationally raise segments of pipes to be joined when the machine is used to manufacture a segmented pipe turn. In addition to the employment of inserts providing increased height of support for pipe segments, the pivotal upper portions for the fixed and moveable clamps are replaced by specially designed upper clamp portions that have contacting surfaces configured to accept inclined and elevationally upwardly supported pipe segments. By the use of such specially designed inserts and replacement upper clamp portions a butt fusion machine can be employed to manufacture segmented pipe turns of the maximum pipe diameter for which the machine is designed.

A device for insertion of a plastic pipe section into a shaped plastic piece for welding in accordance with a heating element method. Two carriages, which each have a clamping element, are positioned on a base frame and can be displaced with respect to each other with a setting device. A heating device is pivotal, into and out of position between the two clamping elements with the clamped plastic pipe section and the clamped shaped plastic piece, by using levers pivotally mounted on the base frame. The heating device has a setting element with a cupped section for placing over the plastic pipe section and a cylindrical section for insertion into the shaped plastic piece. Universal use, requiring no set-up time, of the device for different diameters is achieved with the heating device having a plurality of different heating elements, each with a cupped and a cylindrical section. The heating device is pivotally mounted on the pivot levers in such a way that with the heating device in a set position, the heating elements can be optionally rotated between the two clamping elements, with the clamped plastic pipe section and the clamped shaped plastic piece.
