    摘要: The invention uses a connection having a predetermined priority, switched through the existing call processing switch fabric, to connect between customer premise equipment (CPE). The connection is implemented such that the connection is disconnected if an incoming call to one of the CPEs or an outgoing request for service from one of the CPEs is made that has a priority higher than the predetermined priority. If the connection is disconnected due to a request for higher priority service, the system of the invention can automatically reestablish the connection after the higher priority service call has ended.

    摘要: A method for connecting a system utilizing message-based synchronization with an external system. The message-based system includes a plurality of nodes interchanging signals containing synchronization messages with information about the priority of the respective signal in the internal synchronization hierarchy of the system. For the external system to be able to utilize the message-based system as well as possible with respect to timing, synchronization status data in the internal format of the external system is transmitted from the interface node of the system utilizing message-based synchronization to the external system. The first processing unit is adapted to monitor the communications channel and provide a plurality of status bits. The interface unit includes an interrupt register. Each interrupt has a priority, and the interrupt controller is adapted to store selected interrupts in the interrupt register in an order determined by the priority of the interrupts. A method includes monitoring a communications channel. A plurality of status bits associated with the monitoring are provided. A plurality of interrupts are identified based on changes in the status bits, each interrupt having a priority. Selected interrupts are stored in an interrupt queue in an order determined by the priority of the interrupts.
