摘要： A method and related compositions for preparing a substrate for printing are described. The invention comprises coating a non-paper substrate with an adherent base coat and a hydrophilic top coat. The base coat adheres to the substrate and the top coat, which is applied to the base coat and adheres to it, provides an ink receptive surface on which ink pigment can be deposited. A base coating composition comprises a type-A gelatin and an acrylic polymer. A top coating composition comprises a type-A or type-B gelatin and a hydrophilic organic polymer. A base- and top-coated substrate of the invention is particularly suited for use with ink-jet printers that employ aqueous-based inks. Printing substrates include such materials as canvas, leather, polymeric films and sheets, and the like.

摘要： In a process for printing on leather substrates using the transfer printing method by surface treatment of the substrate, applying an auxiliary carrier which is printed on with sublimable dyes and transferring the dyes to the substrate by dry heat treatment, the surface of the substrate is impregnated with an aqueous solution of a pre-condensate of a urea aldehyde resin or melamine aldehyde resin, the solvent is removed at a temperature which still does not cause condensation of the pre-condensate, and the dyes are transferred at a temperature of between 140.degree. and 250.degree. C. for a sufficiently long time for the pre-condensate to condense out at the same time.

摘要： A method and equipment to form a digital print by applying dry colourants on a surface of a panel, bonding a part of the colourants with a binder and removing the non-bonded colourants from the surface. The method of forming a digital print on a surface of a panel includes displacing the panel under a digital drop application head, applying a liquid binder with the digital drop application head on the surface; applying colourants on the liquid binder and the surface; bonding a part of the colourants to the surface with the liquid binder; removing non-bonded colourants from the surface such that a digital print is formed by the bonded colourants; and applying heat and pressure on the panel, the surface and the bonded colorants such that the colourants are permanently bonded to the surface.
