摘要: The coefficient of friction of aluminum can surfaces after alkaline cleaning and drying can be substantially reduced by adding to the alkaline cleaner a mobility enhancing additive, preferably a surface active quaternary ammonium salt with hydroxyethyl substituents on the quaternary nitrogen atoms. A can surface suitable for automatic conveying and high quality lacquer or printing ink adhesion can thereby be obtained, if desired without including any substantial fluoride content in any treatment stage.

By this reaction, a product is formed whereby an active component of the first compound, e.g., the antioxidant, is covalently incorporated into the second medium.The second medium comprises glyceride derivatives, silicones, fluorocarbons and alkoxylates containing reactive groups such as hydroxy, amino, carboxyl, ester, or amides.

摘要: Polymer compositions derived from selected alkyl (meth)acrylate ester monomers used in certain weight ratios to provide improved viscosity control and low temperature performance characteristics in phosphate ester aircraft hydraulic fluids is disclosed. Polymer compositions for use as viscosity index improving additives in aircraft hydraulic fluids contain from 40 to 100 weight percent (C.sub.1 -C.sub.10)alkyl (meth)acrylate and zero to 60 weight percent (C.sub.11 -C.sub.20)alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer units. Preferred polymer compositions based on 40 to 70 weight percent (C.sub.1 -C.sub.10)alkyl (meth)acrylate and 30 to 60 weight percent (C.sub.11 -C.sub.15)alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer units combine good solubility in the phosphate ester hydraulic fluids with good viscosity control at low and high temperatures.

摘要: It has now been discovered that oligomers of C.sub.6 - C.sub.20 alpha-olefins, such as 1-decene, with branch ratios below 0.19 and high viscosity indices (HVI) can be functionalized to provide unique phosphite derivatives. Functionalized polyalpha-olefin lubricants compositions are prepared with superior properties by adding functionalized organophosphites to the olefinic bond of HVI-PAO. The invention encompasses a process for the preparation of lubricant range hydrocarbons containing phosphonate functional groups, comprising;reacting olefinic C.sub.20 + polyalpha-olefin oligomers having a branch ratio of less than 0.19 and phosphite ester in a mixture with peroxide catalyst at elevated temperature whereby phosphite ester adduct of said polyalpha-olefin is formed;separating said reaction mixture products and recovering said adduct.

摘要: An oil composition contains 100 parts by weight of a base oil selected from the group consisting of mineral base oil, synthetic base oil and mixtures thereof, and 0.1 to 20 parts by weight of a hydrogenated oil obtained by hydrogenating an oil selected from the group consisting of coal type tar, oil produced by fractionating coal type tar, a hydrocarbon obtained by thermally cracking petroleum and having a boiling point of not lower than 200.degree. C., a hydrocarbon obtained by catalytically cracking petroleum and having a boiling point of not lower than 200.degree. C., a hydrocarbon obtained by catalytically reforming petroleum and having a boiling point of not lower than 200.degree. C., and mixtures thereof, whereby the hydrogenated oil has the hydrogen-donating properties of not lower than three times the hydrogen-donating properties of the base oil at temperatures of not lower than 350.degree. C.

摘要: A lubricant and surface conditioner for formed metal surfaces, particularly aluminum and tin beverage containers, reduces the coefficient of static friction of said metal surfaces and enables drying said metal surfaces at a lower temperature. The conditioner includes a water-soluble organic material selected from alkoxylated or non-alkoxylated castor oil triglycerides and hydrogenated castor oil derivatives; alkoxylated and nonoalkoxylated amine salts of a fatty acid including mono-, di-, tri-, and poly-acids; alkoxylated and non-alkoxylated amino fatty acids; alkoxylated and non-alkoxylated fatty amine N-oxides, alkoxylated and non-alkoxylated quaternary ammonium salts, oxa-acid esters, and water-soluble alkoxylated and non-alkoxylated polymers.

摘要: A coating composition for metallic surfaces contains:(1) Cr.sup.6+, or Cr.sup.6+ and Cr.sup.3+,(2) 1-50% of lubricant(s) dispersed by a nonionic emulsifying agent,(3) acryl-series polymer emulsion, which is obtained by emulsion-polymerizing, by means of a nonionic emulsifying agent which is essentially free of anionic and cationic emulsifying agent and which contains a polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene block polymer, monomers of A), B), and C):A) a monomer of ethylene-series, unsaturated carboxylic acidB) one or more monomers selected from a), b), and c):a) alkoxyethylene(metha)acrylamide and its derivative(s) expressed by the following general formula ##STR1## X is CnH.sub.2n+1 (n=0 or 1) Y is CmH.sub.2m+1 (m=0-4)b) acid phospho-oxyalkyl(metha)acrylate, andc) alkoxy-alkyl(metha)acrylateC) one or more acryl-series monomers (a part of which may consist of 2)(c)).
