    摘要: The invention is a poppet valve arrangement with a follower member rotatable with a drive shaft about the axis of rotation of the shaft. The follower member is rotatable within a hollow cam member having an internal cam profile with which the follower member is held in contact. Either the follower member or the cam member is capable of limited linear movement in a direction transverse to the axis of rotation of the shaft, and either of the follower member or the cam member is coupled to the poppet valve so that rotation of the shaft is translated into movement of either the follower member or the cam member and thereby into linear movement of the poppet valve.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a reciprocating drive mechanism and means for either amplifying or suppressing the output of the mechanism. The mechanism includes a rotating cam adjacent to which is positioned a carriage member having a cam follower mounted thereon. The carriage member acts as a housing for a pair of racks which have interengaging teeth and are preferably mounted perpendicular to each other. The carriage is mounted for translatory movement in response to the action of the cam and cam follower and the racks are forced into relative movement with respect to the carriage by a stationary elongated member. The elongated member has a track on one face thereof, in which is engaged a roller, the roller being mounted on the surface opposite the teeth of one of the racks. When the carriage moves, the follower within the elongated member will force its associated rack to move within the carriage, which movement of the associated rack will cause the other rack to have corresponding movement. The angular orientation of the elongated member controls the amount of movement of the other rack and can be adjusted to cause the effective movement of the other rack to be amplified or suppressed.

    摘要: An adjustable stroke device for a random orbital machine has a housing with a central axis and a wall defining a cavity. At least one counterweight is movably disposed at least partially within the cavity. A mounting assembly is disposed at least partially within the cavity. The mounting assembly has a workpiece attachment mechanism. A stroke adjuster couples the at least one counterweight with the mounting assembly. The stroke adjuster enables the at least one counterweight and mounting assembly to move with respect to one another such that a distance between the at least one counterweight and the mounting assembly may be variably adjusted which, in turn, variably adjust a stroke radius of the workpiece attachment mechanism with respect to the central axis of the housing. The stroke adjuster has an adjuster ring and a cam mechanism secured with the adjuster ring.
