    摘要: Provided is a nonaqueous dispersion of resin particles, in which the resin particles have uniform particle diameters and shapes and which exhibits excellent fixing properties, particularly when used as a liquid electrophotographic developer. More specifically, provided is a nonaqueous dispersion (X) in which resin particles (C) are dispersed in a nonhydrophilic organic solvent (L) that exhibits a relative permittivity of 1 to 4 at 20° C., the resin particles (C) being core-shell type resin particles each of which comprise a resin particle (B) that contains a resin (b) and fine particles (A) that contain a resin (a) and that either adhere to the surface of the resin particle (B) or form a film on the surface of the resin particle (B), wherein the solubility of (a) in (L) at 25° C. is 10 wt % or less relative to the weight of (a).

High purity composites may be formed from compositions comprising a crosslinkable fluoroelastomer terpolymer of TFE, PAVE, and CNVE, and functionalized PTFE, which may be crosslinked to form crosslinked composites having low metal content and low compression set. Emulsion mixtures for forming the high purity composites are also provided.

    摘要: A yarn, fabric, and garment suitable for use in arc and flame protection comprising aramid fiber and modacrylic fiber wherein the modacrylic fiber has less than 1.5 percent antimony and is preferably antimony-free. In one embodiment, the yarn, fabric, and/or garments consist essentially of (a) 50 to 80 weight percent meta-aramid fiber having a degree of crystallinity of at least 20%, (b) 10 to 40 weight percent modacrylic fiber that is antimony-free, (c) 5 to 20 weight percent para-aramid fiber, and (d) 1 to 3 weight percent antistatic fiber, based on the total weight of components (a), (b), (c) and (d). In some embodiments, garments made from the yarns provide thermal protection such that a wearer would experience less than a 65 percent predicted body burn when exposed to a flash fire exposure of 4 seconds per ASTM F1930, while maintaining a Category 2 arc rating per ASTM F1959 and NFPA 70E.

    摘要: Polymethacrylimide foams are prepared by a method, comprising:preparing a mixture consisting of(a) a monomer mixture of 40-60 wt. % methacrylonitrile, 60-40 wt. % methacrylic acid, and, optionally, up to 20 wt. %, based on the sum of methacrylic acid and methacrylonitrile, of other monofunctional, vinyl-unsaturated monomers,(b) 0.5-8 wt. % of a propellant mixture of formamide or monomethyl formamide and a univalent C.sub.3-8 -aliphatic alcohol,(c) a cross-linking agent system, which consists of(c.1) 0.005-5 wt. % of a vinyl-unsaturated compound which can be radically polymerized, with at least two double bonds in the molecule, and(c.2) 1-5 wt. % magnesium oxide, dissolved in the monomer mixture, and at least one radical initiators and optionally at least one additive, shaped in the form of a sheet;polymerizing the monomers in the sheet;subsequently foaming the polymerizate sheet at temperatures from 200-260.degree. C.; and thenheat treating the sheet in two steps, at a first step of 2-6 hours at 100-130.degree. C. and a second step of 32-64 hours at 180-220.degree. C.
