摘要: An image sensor may include an array of imaging pixels arranged in rows and columns. Each column of pixels can be coupled to a column analog-to-digital converter (ADC) via a pixel output line. The column ADC can include a first low noise single-ended comparison stage, a second low noise single-ended comparison stage, a latch circuit, and a counter. The first low noise single-ended comparison stage may include one or more current source transistors, a voltage ramp generator, a common source amplifier transistor, one or more autozero components, one or more capacitors such as a noise filtering capacitor, and a voltage clamping circuit. The voltage ramp generator can output an increasing voltage ramp or a decreasing voltage ramp.

摘要: An apparatus includes a focal plane array configured to receive incoming light. The apparatus also includes a readout integrated circuit configured to generate electrical signals based on the incoming light received by the focal plane array. The apparatus further includes a photonic integrated circuit positioned between the focal plane array and the readout integrated circuit. The photonic integrated circuit is configured to receive the electrical signals and generate output optical signals based on the electrical signals. In some cases, the apparatus may include electrically-conductive vias electrically coupling the focal plane array and the readout integrated circuit, where at least some of the electrically-conductive vias may extend through the photonic integrated circuit. The focal plane array, the readout integrated circuit, and the photonic integrated circuit may form at least part of a monolithic structure.

摘要: A multispectral sensing device includes a first die, including silicon, which is patterned to define a first array of sensor elements, which output first electrical signals in response to optical radiation that is incident on the device in a band of wavelengths less than 1000 nm that is incident on the front side of the first die. A second die has its first side bonded to the back side of the first die and includes a photosensitive material and is patterned to define a second array of sensor elements, which output second electrical signals in response to the optical radiation that is incident on the device in a second band of wavelengths greater than 1000 nm that passes through the first die and is incident on the first side of the second die. Readout circuitry reads the first electrical signals and the second electrical signals serially out of the device.

In one embodiment, a pixel cell includes a photosensor configured to photogenerate image charge in response to incident light, a floating diffusion to receive the image charge from the photosensor, a transfer transistor coupled between the floating diffusion and the photosensor to transfer the image charge to the floating diffusion, and a first reset transistor coupled between the floating diffusion and the voltage supply. The pixel cell further includes a capacitor having two ends, and a second reset transistor. A first end of the capacitor is coupled to the floating diffusion. The second reset transistor is coupled between a second end of the capacitor and the voltage supply.

摘要: A ramp generator includes an operational amplifier having an output to generate a ramp signal. An integration current source is coupled to a first input and a reference voltage is coupled to a second input of the operational amplifier. A feedback capacitor and a reset switch are coupled between the first input and the output of the operational amplifier. The reset switch is turned on to reset the ramp generator.
