    摘要: Methods for producing methadone and its resolution to produce ( R )-6-dimethylamino-4,4-diphenylheptan-3-one (( R )- methadone). Such methods producing first the precursor compound 4-(dimethylamino)-2,2-diphenylpentanitrile. Oxidation of 4-(dimethylamino)-2,2-diphenylpentanitrile with ethyl magnesium halide and hydrolysis with of the complex to form 6-dimethylamino-4,4-diphenylheptan-3-one. Resolution to the ( R )-isomer is effected by reaction with a bromocamphor salt. Once isolated the ( R )-isomer is crystallised.

    摘要: This invention relates to unsubstituted and polymeric leuco colorants for use as consumer product additives to indicate a product function by color change, to make attractive or distinctive visual effects, or to provide latent or delayed color generation. The colorants may be present in a stable, colorless state and may be transformed to an intense colored state upon exposure to certain physical or chemical changes. Alternatively, the colorants may be transformed from one color to another color upon exposure to certain physical or chemical changes. The colored form of the unsubstituted or polymeric leuco colorant may be transient, since the colorant can revert back to its colorless form or its original color after the physical or chemical activation has been removed or changed. Polymeric leuco colorants are typically comprised of at least two components: at least one leuco chromophore component and at least one polymeric component.

    摘要: Disclosed is a series of materials, which exhibit large birefringence under the influence of an applied electric field. These materials are capable of switching this large birefringence with a characteristic time on the order of 1 microsecond or less. In addition, these materials have good optical loss at this wavelength, and are stable under irradiation. These materials are suitable for fabrication of optical devices such a variable optical attenuators, switches, and modulators that respond in these time frames or slower. These materials are also suitable for use across a wide range of wavelengths. As a second component of this invention, some of these novel materials exhibit these desired optical properties (large birefringence, low loss, stability under illumination) at wavelengths as short as about 400 nm. These materials are suitable for fabrication of optical devices operating at or about 405 nm, where conventional EO materials strongly absorb and/or quickly degrade.
