Process for manufacturing a plastic-based cellular structure, in which : parallel lamellae of a composition based on at least one plastic are continuously extruded, in an approximately horizontal direction, through a die having a front face provided with a plurality of parallel slots (5) and with an insulating material, at least on the surface; and upon exiting the die, the spaces lying between two adjacent lamellae are subjected, in successive alternations and between two sizing units (8) whose length is short enough for the plastic composition to remain molten, to an injection of compressed gas and to a vacuum, the two sides of a given lamella being, in respect og one of them, subjected to the action of the compressed gas and, in respect of the other of them, subjected to the action of the vacuum, and vice versa during the next alternation, so as to deform the lamellae and weld them together in pairs, with formation, in a plane approximately parallel to the extrusion direction, of a cellular structure whose constituent cells extend perpendicular to the extrusion direction.

Process for manufacturing cellular structure based on a composition comprising an amorphous thermoplastic polymer and made up of sheets extruded in parallel and intermittently welded, according to which: - an amorphous polymer composition is chosen which has a dynamic melt viscosity, measured at its processing temperature and at an angular velocity of 0.1 rad/s, of less than 2000 Pa.s; and - the temperature of the coolant is regulated so that it is at least equal to T g - 20°C, where T g is the glass transition temperature of the composition based on the amorphous polymer.

Tube et son procédé de fabrication, multicouche en matière plastique, protégé de la détérioration de ses propriétés lors de son usage et de sa manipulation et constitué d'un mandrin tubulaire polymère protégé par deux couches de protection comprenant chacune une composition polymérique de structure non orientée, la première étant compatible avec la composition polymérique de la matière plastique sous-jacente et la deuxième étant une couche extérieure, servant aussi de couche de finition. Une couche de renforcement formée de bandes comprenant une composition polymérique orientée peut être intercalée entre le mandrin et la première couche de protection.

The invention pertains to a method for detecting and measuring the permeation of a fluid through a layer having a first surface (S1) and a second surface (S2), wherein said fluid is contacted with said first surface (S1) and wherein a coating composition comprising a reactive dye is applied to said second surface (S2) to yield a reactive dye coating onto said surface (S2), wherein said reactive dye coating undergoes a colour change when contacted with said fluid, said method comprising: - obtaining an image of at least a portion of said second surface (S2); - applying RGB colour model to said image to determine the red (R ), green (G) and blue (B) coordinates of at least one point of said image; - comparing RGB coordinates of said point to the RGB coordinates of a reference colour; and - correlating said comparison to the concentration of permeating fluid on the surface (S2).

Process for manufacturing a reinforced profile (1), comprising (a) manufacturing at least one daughter tape containing a first thermoplastic polymer and long chopped fibres by dispersing the first thermoplastic polymer in powder form over the long chopped fibres positioned in an isotropic manner; applying an AC electric field and heating under pressure; (b) optionally manufacturing a mother tape (3) by superposing and welding at least two daughter tapes obtained in step (a); and (c) manufacturing a reinforced profile using a daughter tape obtained in step (a) or a mother tape (3) obtained in step (b) by extruding a molten second thermoplastic polymer on at least one face of the daughter tape or on at least one face of the mother tape (3).
