    摘要: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing bis(phenylthio)benzenes at an industrially low cost and the bis(phenylthio)benzenes without having a thiophenol smell by treating the un-reacted thiophenol in a reaction liquid for no-smelling. SOLUTION: This method for producing the bis(phenylthio)benzenes expressed by the following general formula (3') is characterized by reacting dihalobenzenes expressed by the following general formula (1) (wherein X1, X2 are each independently a halogen atom) with thiophenol expressed by the following formula (2) in an aqueous solution, and the method for producing the bis(phenylthio) bezenes is provided by reacting the un-reacted thiophenol in the reaction liquid after reacting the dihalobenzenes with the thiophenol in the aqueous solution of an alkali metal hydroxide to produce an alkylphenylsulfide derivative for treating the product as not smelling.

    摘要: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an aromatic sulfur compound in high yield and high purity by a simple operation by reacting an aromatic halogen compound with a specified alkali metal hydrocarbylmercaptide, and degrading the obtained compound with a protonic acid. SOLUTION: An aromatic halogen compound of the formula Yn-Ar-Xm (Ar is an aromatic hydrocarbon residue; X is a halogen bonded to the carbon atom in the aromatic ring of Ar; Y is a halogen, nitro or the like bonded to the carbon atom in the aromatic ring of Ar; m is >=1; n is >=0) is reacted with in alkali metal hydrocarbylmercaptide of formula I (R1 to R3 are each an alkyl or an aryl; M is an alkali metal) and/or a hydrocarbylmercaptane of formula II, and an alkali metal, its hydroxide, carbonate, hydride or alkoxide, in the presence of a nonprotonic polar solvent to provide aromatic thioethers of formula III, and the thioethers are reacted with a protonic acid to provide the objective aromatic thiols of the formula Yn-Ar-(SH)m.

    摘要: PURPOSE: To obtain a novel thiol derivative which has high refractive index, gives cured products excellent in transparency and can be used as a raw material for optical materials, coating materials and adhesives. CONSTITUTION: This thiol derivative is shown by formula I. This compound is obtained by reaction of (A) bis(4-mercaptophenyl)sulfide with (B) an allyl halide such as allyl chloride in the presence of an alkali at 0-70 deg.C, preferably 10-40 deg.C. In this reaction, the component B is used in an amount of 1-1.5 equivalent amount, preferably 1-1.2 equivalent amount per 1 equivalent amount of the component A. In addition, this thiol derivative is shown by formula II. This thiol compound of formula II is prepared by reaction of (C) bus(4-(2,3- epoxypropylthio)phenyl)sulfide with (D) thiourea or a thiocyanate salt at 0-80 deg.C, preferably 10-60 deg.C where the amount of the component (D) is a 1-4, preferably 1-3 equivalent per one equivalent of the component (C).
