PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paint composition for forming a coating film changing from a non-colored coating film to a bright-colored coating film when light incident angle is changed to the normal of the surface of the coating film. SOLUTION: The paint composition contains (A) a glitter material having an angle-dependent interference effect and (B) a mica and/or alumina flake coated with a metal oxide in the content ratio ((A)/(B)) of the component (A) to the component (B) of 2.5/1 to 1/6 in a solid mass ratio. In the paint composition, an interference color of the component (A) and an interference color of the component (B) in the face angle of the coating film obtained by applying the paint composition are in a complementary color relation and the color of the coating film changes from an achromatic color to a chromatic color when an observation angle of the coating film obtained by applying the paint composition is changed from a face angle to a grazing angle. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated paper excellent in air permeability, not causing to blister and scarcely generating web offset wrinkle, and excellent in suitability for folding and cutting in printing in web offset printing and electrophotographic system. SOLUTION: In the coated paper including a paper substrate and at least two coating layers on at least one surface of the substrate, an inner coating layer adjacent to the paper substrate includes a pigment having any of crystal structures selected from needle crystal, spindle-shaped crystal, columnar crystal, and rice-shaped granulated crystal, and an outermost coating layer formed on the inner coating layer includes thermoplastic organic fine particles having a glass transition temperature of 20 to 150°C.
