摘要: A bone anchor for securing sutures or cables within a hole opening in a bone includes a screw element and a washer, which is separate from and independent of the screw element. The end of the cable to be secured within the bone hole opening is knotted or otherwise secured to the washer, thereby isolating the cable from the twisting of the screw element during insertion of the anchoring device into the hole opening in the bone.

摘要: A biocompatible material may be configured into any number of implantable medical devices including intraluminal stents. Polymeric materials may be utilized to fabricate any of these devices, including stents. The stents may be balloon expandable or self-expanding. By preferential mechanical deformation of the polymer, the polymer chains may be oriented to achieve certain desirable performance characteristics.

摘要: This invention describes a rivet applier delivering orthopedic fasteners into a patient. The rivet applier inserts the rivet body then drives a pin into the rivet body to fix the rivet in position. The rivet applier contains a hammer, hammer spring, firing pin and receiver to deploy rivets. The hammer of the rivet applier is attached to loading grips. The loading grips cock the hammer. A rivet is inserted into the receiver. Upon releasing the hammer, the hammer drives the firing pin and the firing pin inserts the rivet pin into the rivet.

摘要: A bone anchoring device for securing suture or cable within a bone hole opening of a bone includes a radially expandable sheath, an expander member for expanding the sheath and a washer. The cable or suture is secured within the bone hole opening such that an end tip thereof is knotted or secured to the washer to prevent separation therefrom. The cable or suture is not affected by the bearing load placed on the expander member during anchor deployment, and the bearing load acting on the cable member is transferred through the washer to the sheath, and not to the expander member.

The two sections are conjoined and threaded such that the hard front section cuts threads into the bone and the softer rear section follows the threads into the bone. Preferably, the screw has an axial bore for matingly receiving a turning tool such as a hex wrench.

摘要: This invention describes a rivet applier and rivet clip for delivering orthopedic fasteners into a patient. The rivet applier inserts the rivet body then drives a pin into the rivet body to fix the rivet in position. The device comprises a body with a handle, trigger and applier barrel. The rivet applier contains a loader and firing pin to advance and deploy rivets. The applier barrel of the rivet applier is attached to a rivet clip into which rivets may be loaded. The rivets are contained in the body of the rivet clip and loaded into the barrel of the rivet clip through a chamber. The loader of the rivet applier advances the rivet to the end of the barrel. The firing pin advances the rivet body into final position and inserts the rivet pin into the rivet.

摘要: The present invention relates to tissue-supporting medical devices and drug delivery systems, and more particularly to tubular flexible stents that are implanted within a body lumen of a living animal or human to support the organ, maintain patency and/or deliver drugs or agents. The tubular flexible stent has a cylindrical shape defining a longitudinal axis and includes a helical section having of a plurality of longitudinally oriented strut members and a plurality of circumferentially oriented hinge members connecting circumferentially adjacent strut members to form a band. The band is wrapped about the longitudinal axis in a substantially helical manner to form a plurality of helical windings. At least one connector member extends between longitudinally adjacent helical windings of the band.
