摘要: An embodiment of the present invention provides a catalyst with maximized activity and stability through synthesizing carbon quantum dots with transition metal elements introduced based on carbon compound monomers containing nitrogen elements that have excellent bonding ability with transition metals. By introducing low-cost transition metal atoms into nano carbon quantum dots (CQDs), a type of highly stable carbon nanostructure, the activity and stability of the hydrogen generation catalyst reaction through water electrolysis are simultaneously increased, so that an economical, highly active, highly stable catalyst for electrochemical hydrogen generation reaction can be manufactured.

摘要: Provided herein are systems and methods for operating carbon oxide (COx) reduction reactors (CRRs) for producing methane (CH4). Embodiments of the systems and methods may also be used for producing other organic compounds including alcohols, carboxylic acids, and other hydrocarbons such as ethylene (CH2CH2). According to various embodiments, the systems and methods may be characterized by one or more of the following features. In some embodiments, a membrane electrode assembly (MEA) includes a cathode catalyst layer with a relatively low catalyst loading. In some embodiments, a bipolar MEA includes a thin cation-conducting layer and a thin anion-conducting layer, with the cation-conducting layer being thicker than the anion-conducting layer. In other embodiments a pure anion exchange polymer only membrane may be used to bridge the cathode catalyst and the anode catalyst. These and other features are described further below.

摘要: Aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to catalyst compositions including metal chalcogenides, processes for producing such catalyst compositions, processes for enhancing catalytic active sites in such catalyst compositions, and uses of such catalyst compositions in, e.g., processes for producing conversion products. In an aspect, a process for forming a catalyst composition is provided. 摘要: Methods of preparing cell element(s) that are operable in alkaline or anion exchange electrochemical devices are provided, as well as corresponding cell elements and electrochemical devices such as fuel cells, electrolyzers and reversible dual devices. Binder material is mixed with catalyst material and optionally ionomer material, and coated on support layer(s) and/or one or both side of a membrane, and the catalyst layers are hot-pressed briefly, to improve the adhesion of the layer and its cohesivity. Membrane electrode assemblies are prepared from the cell elements in various configurations of the catalyst layers with respect to the cell elements, and the added binder and hot pressing improve the long-term performance and durability of the electrochemical devices.

摘要: The invention concerns a process for the electrochemical production of formate. The process is performed in an electrochemical cell comprising a cathode compartment containing a cathode, an anode compartment containing a nickel-based anode and an ion exchange membrane separating the anode compartment from the cathode compartment. The process comprises the following steps: (a) feeding an anolyte comprising at least one polyol to the anode compartment; (b) feeding a catholyte comprising CO2 to the cathode compartment; (c) and applying a voltage difference between the cathode and the anode such that at the cathode CO2 is reduced to formate and at the anode the at least one polyol is oxidized to formate.
