Abstract:
A wavelength division multiplexing passive optical network including optical lines for link is disclosed. The passive optical network includes a plurality of optical network units each of which generates an upstream optical signal; a central office for generating downstream optical signals to be provided to each of the optical network units, and differentially converting each of the upstream optical signals into a monitoring signal and a received signal. Changes in the wavelength of each of the upstream optical signals are monitored and if there is an abnormality in each optical line by using relevant monitoring signals. The network also includes a remote node for multiplexing and outputting the upstream optical signals to the central office, and demultiplexing and outputting the downstream optical signals to corresponding optical network units.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for quantitatively measuring a delay caused according to communication environments during a transmission of multimedia data, particularly, MPEG (Moving Picture Experts Group)-2 TS (Transport Stream), in a multimedia system. The apparatus includes a transmitter that generates and transmits a counter information packet (CIP), which is required to measure the delay in the transmission of the multimedia data, by inserting into the multimedia data the results of counting predetermined bits using a first counter; and a receiver that receives the CIP and computes the delay by comparing the counting results in the CIP with counting results received from a second counter.
Abstract:
The shape of a locker provided in a locking assembly for a seat slide mechanism is modified into a cylindrical structure with a circular cross section so as to exhibit a higher mechanical rigidity as compared to a conventional plate type locker. Thereby, effectively preventing a half-locked condition. A reinforced channel structure, of a combined hook configuration, enables an upper reinforced channel and a lower reinforced channel to perform mutual locking against upward loads, thus effectively preventing damage of the rail assembly upon the exertion of a load of a three-point-type seat belt for the middle or second seat.
Abstract:
A clustered-dot screen design method, a device to perform the clustered-dot screen design method based on human vision characteristics and printer model characteristics, and an image-forming apparatus to output binary images using designed screens. The clustered-dot screen design method based on the human vision characteristics and the printer model characteristics includes determining positions of a plurality of clustered-dot centers using a predetermined method, and designing a screen by growing specific sub-dots about the cluster centers using a predetermined algorithm according to position information of the cluster centers, the human vision characteristics, and the printer model characteristics. The clustered-dot design method has a high tolerance for defects of printers, since a dot growth sequence about the cluster centers is designed in an optimized method based on the human vision characteristics and the printer model characteristics to have an optimized image quality in output images of the printers, and the dots are clustered about the cluster centers.
Abstract:
A field programmable gate array (FPGA) for multiplexing data and enable signals input from a plurality of input ports and outputting the multiplexed signal to one output port is disclosed. The FPGA includes a plurality of memories, which are connected to the input ports, for storing the input data and enable signals, respectively, and outputting one-shot signals at trailing edges of the enable signals; and a finite state machine (FSM) for sequentially reading the data signals stored in the memories in an order of the one-shot signals input from the memories.

The second electrode layer may include at least one selected from the group consisting of Au, Pd, Pt, Ru, Re, Sc, Mg, Zn, V, Hf, Ta, Rh, Ir, W, Ti, Ag, Cr, Mo, Nb, Ca, Na, Sb, Li, In, Sn, Al, Ni, Cu, and Co. Furthermore, a method of fabricating the thin film electrode is provided.
Abstract:
An industrial X-ray/electron beam source includes an accelerator having a) a coaxial cavity b) an electron gun for emitting an electron beam to be accelerated, c) at least one deflection magnet positioned outside of the cavity, and d) a radio frequency power supply means for supplying power of a radio frequency to the cavity to induce TM010 mode as an accelerating mode in the cavity; and a beam irradiator having a two-dimensional scanning magnet which deflects accelerated beam by the accelerator, an extracting window for extracting the deflected electron beam to be irradiated to an object, and means for guiding the deflected beam toward a center of the extracting window in a radial direction. The source is advantageous in that the electron beams do not intersect inside the cavity, which can reduce beam loss, and that beams or X-rays are irradiated to the object spatially uniformly.
Abstract:
A pedestal for a semiconductor device etching system includes a pedestal body having a circumferential recess. The recess includes a cutaway area extending radially inwardly therefrom. The pedestal further includes a sealing ring configured to mate with the pedestal body recess. The sealing ring includes a radially inwardly-extending projection that resides within the cutaway area of the recess. Because the sealing ring projection fits within and is retained by the cutaway area of the recess, the sealing ring remains in place upon removal of the mounted wafer even if it adheres somewhat to the wafer.
