Abstract: A bidirectional chopper circuit 1 is provided with: a main power converter 11 having a first switch 21-1 and a second switch 21-2 set up so that one switch is turned off when the other switch is turned on and connected in series with each other so as to line up in a conduction direction when turned on, the terminals on both sides of the main power converter 11 on the opposite sides to the connection sides for the first switch 21-1 and the second switch 21-2 being a pair of first external connection terminals; a plurality of single-phase full-bridge power converters 22-j and a pair of second external connection terminals provided on wiring that branches from wiring connecting the first switch 21-1 and the second switch 21-2 so that one or both are connected in cascade; and an inductor 13 connected in series with the single-phase full-bridge power converters 22-j on wiring that branches from wiring connecting the first switch 21-1 and the second switch 21-2.

Abstract: The invention related to a material that can stably hold an imide anion (NH2−) therein even in the atmosphere or in a solvent, and a method for synthesizing the material and a use of the material. A mayenite-type compound into which imide anions are incorporated at a concentration of 1×1018 cm−3 or more are provided. The mayenite-type compound can be produced by heating a mayenite-type compound including electrons or free oxygen ions in a cage thereof, in liquefied ammonia at 450 to 700° C. and at a pressure of 30 to 100 MPa. The compound has properties such that active imide anions can be easily incorporated into the compound and the active imide anions can be easily released in the form of ammonia from the compound, and the compound has chemical stability.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to reveal a role of a stem cell control factor including Matrin-3 in cancer exhibiting neural differentiation including small cell lung cancer, and develop a medicine useful for treating cancer and the like based on the role. Among cancers having the cancer stem cell controlling mechanism, in cancer exhibiting the differentiation potency, the peculiar balance where both of expression of a stem cell maintenance factor and expression of a differentiation promoting factor are higher as compared with normal cells is retained. Additionally, in undifferentiated cancer, the peculiar balance where expression of a stem cell maintenance factor is higher as compared with normal cells is retained. In cancer in which the cancer stem cell controlling mechanism exists, these peculiar balances of a stem cell control factor different from the balance of normal cells exist. In the medicine for treating cancer and the method for treating cancer of the present invention, proliferativeness of cancer is suppressed by breaking down this balance of a stem cell control factor.

Abstract: Provided is a film for a transparent screen which can clearly display merchandise information, advertisement, or the like on a transparent partition or the like by projection without compromising the transmission visibility. A film for a transparent screen according to the present invention includes: a resin layer; and inorganic particles at least a portion of which is contained in an aggregated state in the resin layer, wherein primary particles of the inorganic particles have a median diameter of 0.1 to 50 nm and a maximum particle size of 10 to 500 nm, and the content of the inorganic particles is 0.015 to 1.2% by mass with respect to the resin.

Abstract: An ammonia synthesis catalyst having high activity is obtained by having a two-dimensional electride compound having a lamellar crystal structure such as Ca2N support a transition metal. However, since the two-dimensional electride compound is unstable, the stability of the catalyst is low. In addition, in cases where a two-dimensional electride compound is used as a catalyst support, it is difficult to shape the catalyst depending on reactions since the two-dimensional electride compound has poor processability. Abstract: A walking support apparatus supports the walking movement of a walking person. The walking person may be an elderly person, a disabled person, an invalid, an athlete, a learner, or the like. A measurement unit measures walking information with respect to the walking person, and generates data that represents the walking information. An attachment applies an action to the arm of the walking person according to the walking information data measured by the measurement unit. Such an arrangement provides improved walking movement via the effect on the arm movement when the walking person is walking.
