    摘要: An image forming device includes an image forming unit and a thermal fixing unit. The image forming unit uses a plurality of different color developing agents to form a color image on a recording medium. The plurality of different color developing agents are configured from binding resins with the same thermal properties. The plurality of different color developing agents include at least a high-resistance developing agent and a low-resistance developing agent. The high-resistance developing agent has a higher electrical resistance than the low-resistance developing agent and a lower charge-to-mass ratio than the low-resistance developing agent. The thermal fixing unit thermally fixes the color image onto the recording medium.

    摘要: A fixing device has a fixing unit and a temperature detection unit. The fixing unit includes a heat roller provided with a roller section and a heater section, and a pressure roller in pressure contact with the heat roller. These rollers are disposed in a protective cover. The roller section includes a base layer of aluminum formed into a hollow cylindrical shape, a black radiation layer, and a toner parting layer. The heater section is disposed in a hollow space of the base layer. In this heat roller, when heat is emitted from the heater section, and the heat is transmitted to the radiation layer via the base layer, greater amount of infrared radiation is emitted from the radiation layer than in the case of a heat roller that is not equipped with the radiation layer. The temperature detecting unit includes an infrared radiation sensor. Thus, even if a noise component is absorbed to some extent by locating the sensor at a distance from the heat roller on an outside of the protective cover, the temperature of the heat roller is detected accurately.

    摘要: In the position detection device, a timing fence is formed with a plurality of slits which are arranged in its elongated direction. An elongated metal member is provided for supporting the timing fence so that the timing fences will extend in the scanning direction of the image recording head. An encoder is provided for counting the slits on the timing fence while the carriage moves. A gap between the encoder and the elongated metal member can be adjusted properly and uniformly through rotating eccentric collars of the adjustment members inserted into the elongated through-holes in the elongated metal member.

    摘要: The apparatus for reading a symbol of a 2-dimensional code has a diffusion plate and a diffuse reflection surface between a light source unit and an opening to prevent light emitted from the light source unit from directly reaching the opening. Illumination light from the light source unit reaches the diffuse reflection surface while the central axis of the light is shifted from the optical path to the diffusion plate. With this arrangement, nonuniformity of illumination light irradiated on a a symbol on object can be prevented, and a halation of light can be prevented. The symbol of the 2-dimensional code can therefore be accurately read.

    摘要: An optical code reader which is held in a hand of an operator and is brought near an article having a 2-dimensional code affixed thereto at the time of reading, includes an illumination light source for illuminating the 2-dimensional code on the article, a reading unit for reading the 2-dimensional code from a light reflected by the article, and a frame for housing the light source and the reading unit, the frame having a read window through which the reflected light passes. The reading unit has an area CCD for sensing an image corresponding to the reflected light and for converting the image to an electrical signal, and a lens block for focusing the reflected light to the area CCD to form the image. The reading unit further has an optical path length adjusting cap for adjusting the length of an optical path between the read window and the lens block upon a change in the magnification of the lens block.
