Abstract:
In a joint assembly of a walking assistance robot that is capable of performing an operation with 3 degrees of freedom, similarly to a user's joint, a rolling motion and a sliding motion are simultaneously made, and a rotation center changes so that the joint assembly can make a similar motion to that of an actual knee joint of the user. Thus, when the user wears the walking assistance robot and walks, misalignment can be prevented from occurring in the knee joint.

The exoskeleton comprises a drive force transmission mechanism drivingly connecting a drive motor having an output axle aligned with the upper limb portion to one of the body portion and the lower limb portion. The drive force transmission mechanism comprises a first gear provided on an upper end of the lower limb portion or on the body portion and a first transfer member extending transverse to the motor axis.
Abstract:
An exoskeleton for a limb of a user wherein the limb has an upper portion that is pivotally mounted to another part of the exoskeleton about a pivot axis and the upper portion is drivingly connected to the exoskeleton by a force applied via a drive force transmission axis that is vertically offset from the pivot axis.
Abstract:
A massage fitness apparatus for waist, abdomen, and back contains: a frame; a back massaging assembly disposed in the frame; a kneading and swinging portion fixed on a lower end of the frame, the kneading and swinging portion having a first motor for driving a gear assembly by which a rotary shaft is driven, and the rotary shaft having two eccentric rollers mounted on two ends of the rotary shaft, each eccentric roller having a belt mount axially fixed on an eccentric peg thereof; a belt, two ends of which are inserted through a cover and fixed on two belt mounts. Thereby, when the belt is tied around user's waist and abdomen, it drives the first motor, and then the two eccentric rollers swing to drive the belt to knead and swing the user's waist and abdomen, thus obtaining a massage purpose.
Abstract:
An upper limb training apparatus comprises an operation rod supported by a frame such that the operation rod can tilt in all directions. The operation rod is operated by a trainee by hand. A tilting operation force detecting mechanism disposed between the frame and the operation rod includes a load member that is displaced and generates a predetermined elastic resistance force corresponding to the tilting amount regardless of the tilting direction when the operation rod is tilted, and a vector detecting section that detects the tilting operation force and the tilting direction of the operation rod due to displacement of the load member.
Abstract:
A head care system (hair washing apparatus 100) according to the present invention includes a base (bowl 101) having a head support 11 for supporting a head 10 of a human. The system includes a pair of arm units (washing unit 12) for taking care of the head 10. Each of the arm units has a support shaft mounted to the base. The arm units are arranged such that the head support 11 is located between the pair of arm units. The system includes a pair of shaft driving members for driving the arm units in such a manner that each of the arm units rotates about the corresponding support shaft. The system includes a controller 400 for controlling driving operations of the shaft driving members. Each of the arm units includes a contact arm (third arm 107L, 108L, 107R, 108R) having a plurality of contacts equipped on tips of the contact arm, a secondary arm (second arm 106L, 106R) for rotatably supporting the contact arm, and a main arm (first arm 105L, 105R) which rotatably supports the secondary arm and is rotatably supported by the base. The main arm has a four-link mechanism.
Abstract:
A pulsing valve for routing water flow from an inlet line to outlet lines connected to water jets arranged in an array to massage an occupant of a whirlpool spa or bathtub is provided. The pulsing valve includes a water turbine driving a selector disk through a reduction gear drive. The selector disk contains openings which oppose individual outlet water lines and direct water flow to them. Rotation of the selector disk switches or cycles pressurized water flow among the individual outlet water lines, causing the massaging water jet location to move, improving the quality of the resulting massage. The speed of the cycling of the water can be changed by changing the pressure of the water delivered to the water turbine. Additionally, the water turbine can be powered by tap water instead of pressurized water and the valve can be used to cycle tap water to the individual jets instead of cycling pressurized water. The pulsing valve can be used to cycle air to the individual jets instead of cycling pressurized water. Finally, a selector on the valve is used to control the flow of water through the valve outlets, the selector initiating flow of water through the outlets at a different rate than the selector terminates the flow of water through the outlets.
Abstract:
An electromagnetic brake assembly includes a solenoid coil; a fixed ferrous brake stator; a ferrous armature having a braking face, wherein the armature is moveable in a translation direction relative to the brake stator between a disengaged position and an engaged position; and a rotating member including a mating surface and that rotates relative to the armature when the armature is in the disengaged position. When the solenoid coil is energized, the armature translationally moves from the disengaged position to the engaged position, and in the engaged position the braking face of the armature interacts with the mating surface of the rotating member to apply a braking force to the rotating member. The braking face and the mating surface may form a conical interface, and the conical interface further may include a friction O-ring positioned within a slot that permits the O-ring to roll along the braking interface when the armature moves between the disengaged position and the engaged position.
