Abstract:
A tether may include a core, a plurality of electrical conductors wound around the core, and a jacket surrounding the plurality of electrical conductors. The plurality of electrical conductors may include at least two groups of electrical conductors. Each group of electrical conductors of the at least two groups of electrical conductors may define a respective electrical path, where the respective electrical path is different from the electrical paths defined by other groups of electrical conductors of the at least two groups of the electrical conductors. Moreover, each group of electrical conductors of the at least two groups of electrical conductors is located around a respective portion of the core, such that a cross-section of each group of electrical conductors of the at least two or more electrical conductors defines a respective arc around the respective portion of the core.
Abstract:
Methods are provided for forming a spliced eye (220) of a sling (222) made from a rope that includes a core rope (37) and includes a braided sheath (398).
Abstract:
In an elevator rope, a plurality of steel outer layer strands are twisted together on an outer circumference of an inner layer rope. The inner layer rope has: a fiber core; a plurality of steel inner layer strands that are twisted together directly onto an outer circumference of the fiber core; and a resin inner layer rope coating body that is coated onto the outer circumference. A diameter of the inner layer strands is smaller than a diameter of the outer layer strands. The inner layer strands are greater in number than the outer layer strands.
Abstract:
The abrasion resistance of organic fiber based ropes and cords is increased by a outer woven cover of tapes of high molecular weight and more preferably ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene
Abstract:
A cord suitable for use in a tire or belt comprises a plurality of polymeric yarns or metallic strands wherein the yarns or strands are aligned parallel to each other to form a planar array, the yarns or strands being encapsulated by a solvent-free non-filamentary polymeric or rubber sheath, the yarns or strands have a tenacity of at least 3 grams per dtex and a modulus of at least 200 grams per dtex, and the ratio of the width of the encapsulated planar array to the thickness of the array is at least 2 to 1.
Abstract:
A buoyant rope is presented consisting of at least two strands, wherein each strand comprises synthetic fibers, wherein the rope is characterized in that the synthetic fibers comprise a component A) and a component B), wherein A) is at least one monofilament and B) is at least one multifilament yarn, the filaments of which are hollow-fiber filaments.
Abstract:
A rope structure of the present invention comprises a plurality of first yarns and a plurality of second yarns. The first yarns are formed of at least one material selected from the group of materials comprising HMPE, LCP, Aramids, and PBO, have a breaking elongation of approximately 2%-5%, and have a tenacity of approximately 25-45 gpd. The second yarns are formed of at least one material selected from the group of materials comprising polyolefin, polyethylene, polypropylene, and blends or copolymers of the two, have a breaking elongation of approximately 2%-12%, and have a tenacity of approximately 6-22 gpd. The first and second yarns are combined to form rope sub-components. The rope sub-components comprise approximately 20-80% by weight of the first yarns.
Abstract:
A rope structure comprising a plurality of rope subcomponents, a plurality of bundles, a plurality of first yarns, and a plurality of second yarns. The rope subcomponents are combined to form the rope structure. The bundles are combined to form the rope subcomponents.
