摘要: An immersive play environment platform including techniques describing recognizing non-verbal vocalization gestures from a user is disclosed. A headset device receives audio input from a user. The headset device transmits the audio input to a controller device. The controller device evaluates characteristics of the audio input (e.g., spectral features over a period of time) to determine whether the audio input corresponds to a predefined non-verbal vocalization, such as a humming noise, shouting noise, etc. The controller device may perform an action in response to detecting such non-verbal vocalizations, such as engaging a play object (e.g., an action figure, an action disc) in the play environment.

摘要: Methods of providing in-game virtual split screens with peer-to-peer video conferencing are described for use in online gaming, for instance. In one approach, a live video stream, a live audio stream, and a player viewpoint are sent from a first computer system for receipt by a second computer system. The first and second computer systems concurrently execute the online game. The live video stream, the in-game video stream, and locally rendered in-game content are combined to create a composite video stream, and the live audio stream, the in-game audio stream, and locally generated in-game audio are combined to create a composite audio stream. The composite video stream and the composite audio stream are operable to be presented at the second computer system in real-time.

摘要: Systems, methods, and computer media for generating and invoking voice-triggered macros are disclosed herein. A buffer is configured to receive sensor data for one or more sensors. The sensor data reflects user actions. A macro generator is configured to receive a command to initiate creation of a voice-triggered macro and determine macro actions for inclusion in the voice-triggered macro based on the sensor data in the buffer. The macro generator is also configured to assign a speech key to the voice-triggered macro. When audio input is determined to match the speech key of the voice-triggered macro, the macro actions are performed.

A target region image that expresses a distance of the target region 102 from an imaging surface as a pixel value on an image plane is generated, and compared with a depth image corresponding to an actual captured image 100; thus, only images of blocks 3c and 3b inside the target region 102 are extracted as detection and tracking targets.

摘要: An electronic competitive challenge is disclosed. A prompt is presented to a group of participants. A computer system with a speech recognition module listens for multiple, simultaneous speech utterances from the group of participants. Each speech utterance is decoded, assigned a priority or timing, and associated with one of the participants. Based on the priority or timing, the content of the utterances, and a predefined rule set, one of the participants is identified as the competitive challenge winner. The prompt may be an electronic image, and the utterances may relate to a concept associated with or reflected in the image. The image may be drawn by a human and presented in a visual sequence that tracks its original creation, or it may be an image that is automatically degraded using image processing to disguise its content.

摘要: Participants can compete in a physical environment, such as by piloting a car around a track. The competition is recorded in a video. Participants can interact physically with each other and with the race environment, such as by steering into one another and navigating the race environment. Participants can also interact virtually, such as “shooting” one another with digitally rendered weapons. Both real and virtual interactions affect the outcome of the competition. The video is programmatically altered to show special effects and is programmatically edited to select physical and virtual interactions, changes, which had the largest effect on the outcome of the competition. The programmatically altered video may be played back during game play and the programmatically edited video may be played back after the competition.

摘要: An augmented-reality audio system generates information regarding the acoustic environment by sampling audio signals. Using a Gaussian mixture model or other technique, the system identifies the location of one or more audio sources, with each source contributing an audio component to the sampled audio signals. The system determines a reverberation time for the acoustic environment using the audio components. In determining the reverberation time, the system may discard audio components from sources that are determined to be in motion, such as components with an angular velocity above a threshold or components having a Doppler shift above a threshold. The system may also discard audio components from sources having an inter-channel coherence above a threshold. In at least one embodiment, the system renders sounds using the reverberation time at virtual locations that are separated from the locations of the audio sources.
