    摘要: A trick action type clock, wherein a dial plate which is arranged in front of ornaments is made of left and right side dial plates mating along a line passing through a center of rotation of the hands. A planetary gear mechanism actuates the left and right side dial plates so as to make them rotate and revolve around the center of rotation of the hands to produce an opening and closing motion. Therefore, the dial plate made of the two mating parts performs an opening and closing motion which produces a strong impression due to the surprising dynamic change.

The read/write device includes heads, a carriage, a stepper motor for moving the carriage stepwise, and a medium drive motor for spinning a recording medium. The stepper motor further includes a rotor, a first stator which is formed from multilayer magnetic material and is fixedly positioned so as to surround the rotor, a second stator formed in substantially the same way as the first stator, and a holder for housing the first and second stators.

    摘要: An optical branching device includes a main waveguide and a branching waveguide. A portion of the main waveguide is bent and the branching waveguide is placed close to the bent part of the main waveguide. The branching waveguide has a taper structure such that a width of the branching waveguide is gradually decreased in a propagation direction of light. A central axis of the branching waveguide is tilted from a line extended from a straight part of the main waveguide toward the direction X, or the bending direction of the main waveguide. An input end of the branching waveguide has a normal vector tilted from the central axis of the branching waveguide toward the direction Y, an opposite direction of the bending direction of the main waveguide. With above-mentioned structures, light radiated from the bent part of the main waveguide can be launched into the input end of the branching waveguide and transmitted through the branching waveguide efficiently.

    摘要: An electron emission device exhibits a high electron emission efficiency. The device comprises an electron supply layer of metal or semiconductor, an insulator layer formed on the electron supply layer, and a thin-film metal electrode formed on the insulator layer. The electron emission device emits electrons when an electric field is applied between the electron supply layer and the thin-film metal electrode. The insulator layer is a dielectric layer having a thickness of 50 nanometers or more, and formed by a vacuum evaporation process with a layer forming rate of 0.5 to 100 nanometers/minute.
