摘要: Method and apparatus for powering electric motors. The electric motors are connected to a DC power supply by a parallel modular converter that includes a plurality of parallel power converters that convert the DC power to AC power. The parallel modular converter selectively connects different parallel power converters to different ones of the electric motors to provide an adequate supply of electrical power to meet the load conditions of the electric motor. As the load conditions of the electric motors dynamically change, the parallel modular converter can selectively connect certain PPCs to different motors to satisfy the changing load conditions.

摘要: The station-building power supply device includes a capacitor unit that stores therein surplus regenerative power, a first power conversion unit that performs DC/DC power conversion, and a second power conversion unit that converts DC power. A first voltage threshold for detecting the occurrence of surplus regenerative power is set and a first SOC threshold for detecting whether the capacitor unit can discharge is set. The first power conversion unit is controlled such that power is supplied from the feeder to the capacitor unit to charge the capacitor unit when the feeding voltage exceeds the first voltage threshold, and the second power conversion unit is controlled such that power is supplied from the capacitor unit to the station loads when the SOC of the capacitor unit exceeds the first SOC threshold.

摘要: A system and method for a distributed smart power and storage transfer architecture. An embodiment includes a stored power transfer control system comprising a remote monitoring processor located remotely from a plurality of sites, wherein the plurality of sites are connected to a distribution line. The stored power transfer control system further includes a plurality of energy storage systems distributed across the plurality of sites and a plurality of power control modules distributed across a plurality of sites. At least one of the plurality of power control modules is configured to receive, by a first communication bus, a data telegram from a monitoring processor and forward, by the first communication bus, the data telegram to a connected power control module. Further the at least one of the plurality of power control modules is configured to supply the distribution line with power output by a respective energy storage system according to the data telegram.

The branch controller configured to determine a fault condition is occurring within the MVDC collection system, determine the location of the fault condition, and isolate the fault condition using at least one of the semiconductor switches and the DC/DC converters.

摘要: A system and method for leakage current detection and fault location identification in a DC power circuit is disclosed. The system includes a plurality of DC leakage current detectors positioned throughout the DC power circuit, the DC leakage current detectors configured to sense and locate a leakage current fault in the DC power circuit. Each of the DC leakage current detectors is configured to generate a net voltage at an output thereof indicative of whether a leakage current fault is present at a location at which the respective DC leakage current detector is positioned. A logic device in operable communication with the DC leakage current detectors receives output signals from each DC leakage current detector comprising the net voltage output and locates the leakage current fault in the DC power circuit based on the output signals received from the plurality of DC leakage current detectors.

摘要: An inverter producing an alternating current from a direct current source has a primary stage coupled to the direct current source having a step-up transformer, a first switching circuit coupling the direct current to the transformer primary and a rectifier coupled to a secondary of the transformer for producing a DC voltage; a controller for the first switching circuit providing pulse drive signals to control switches of the first switching circuit to cause current to flow in the transformer primary and induce an alternating current in the transformer secondary; a secondary stage receiving the DC voltage having a second switching circuit and a controller for the second switching circuit for generating control signals to cause current through the second switching circuit to flow in alternate directions thorough the load. In one embodiment the alternating current period is divided into time slices and the switches of the first switching circuit are duty cycle modulated at different duty cycles in each time slice. A second embodiment switches series-connected primary windings of a multi-tap transformer.

摘要: An installation for transmitting electrical power between a first and a second alternating voltage network. A self-commutated converter can be connected to the second alternating voltage network, and is connected to a unidirectional rectifier by way of a direct voltage connection. The unidirectional rectifier can be connected to the first alternating voltage network on the alternating voltage side, and to a wind farm via said first alternating voltage network. The farm has at least one wind turbine feeding electrical power into the first alternating voltage network when wind speeds are greater than a switch-on wind speed. An energy-generating device can be connected to the first alternating voltage network and/or to the at least one wind turbine for providing electrical energy. The energy-generating device converts a renewable primary energy from its surroundings when wind speeds are lower than the switch-on wind speed for the wind turbine.
