摘要: A communication system for vehicles includes a camera disposed at a first vehicle and having a field of view exterior of the first vehicle. The camera captures image data. A first communication device disposed at the first vehicle wirelessly transmits image data captured by the camera. A second communication device disposed at a second vehicle receives the transmitted captured image data from the first communication device. At least one of (i) an image processor disposed at the second vehicle processes the received transmitted captured image data for a driver assistance system of the second vehicle and (ii) a display of the second vehicle displays images derived from the received transmitted captured image data for viewing by a driver of the second vehicle.

摘要: The invention is related to a portable vehicle monitoring system that is to be mounted on mobile objects such as police cars for security purposes and ambulances which have right of way; characterized in that it comprises a camera placed on the front right and front left and both sides of the system which enables the system to capture images and recognize faces, LED lighting located around the cameras which are directed towards visual direction and which enable capturing of legible images even at night time police lights placed at the front and rear faces of the base which can flash on and off when necessary, an alarm control device, Ethernet connection forming the network, a cooling device which eliminates the heat formed inside the apparatus, a control card which operates the police lights, modem which continuously provide wireless communication and a top cover which encloses the entire system.

Such information can be used by the vehicle driver singularly or in conjunction with other information available to the vehicle driver in order to allow the driver to operate the vehicle in an increasingly safe manner and/or to reduce the likelihood of property damage and/or possible bodily injuries to the driver, etc. In some instances, such information is presented to the driver as an augmented reality environment such that the driver can “see through” objects that may be occluding the driver's vision.

摘要: One way to improve fuel efficiency of a vehicle is to detect the vehicle operational shortcomings related to fuel consumption by determining whether fuel used during operation of the vehicle is normal fuel use or wasted fuel use. Considerations of idling, speeding and inappropriate gear shifts are some ways to measure the amount of fuel wasted due to operator shortcomings. Communicating this information to the operator in real-time so adjustments can be made will improve vehicle fuel efficiency. These techniques are applicable to tracking employment of other driving best practices as well.

摘要: A drive recorder sends to a server a moving image file showing a situation of surroundings of vehicle in a moment at which large acceleration occurred. The server determines, based on moving image file, whether or not to prohibit from being overwritten moving image file showing surroundings of vehicle in a moment at which an event occurred. Based on a determination result determined by the server, the drive recorder prohibits from being overwritten an image data set showing the moment 1) at which the event occurred or 2) optionally before and/or after the event occurred including the moment at which the event occurred. Thus, the drive recorder can surely prohibit the image data set to be prohibited from being overwritten. Moreover, it is possible to effectively use a storage area of a memory by allowing overwriting image data set that does not necessarily need to be prohibited from being overwritten.

In one example, the enhanced view comprises information that is not visible to the naked eye and/or cannot be currently sensed by the vehicle's sensors (e.g., due to a partial or blocked view, low visibility conditions, hardware capabilities of the vehicle's sensors, position of the vehicle's sensors, etc.).

The computing unit 10 is also configured to calculate a hitch angle by tracking the position of a trailer-mounted marker in the camera view.
