Abstract:
A communication device communicates with other communication devices in a wireless network using a first and a second frequency band. In accordance with some embodiments, inter-band beamforming assistance may be provided by the lower frequency band.
Abstract:
Embodiments herein describe apparatuses, systems, and methods for signaling to support downlink coordinated multipoint (CoMP) communications with a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication network. In embodiments, the UE may be configured with a plurality of channel state information (CSI) processes (e.g., via radio resource control (RRC) signaling) to use for providing CSI feedback to an evolved Node B (eNB) to support downlink CoMP communications. The UE may be configured with a plurality of sets of CSI processes. The UE may further receive a downlink control information (DCI) message from the eNB that indicates one of the configured sets of CSI processes on which the UE is to provide CSI feedback to the UE. The UE may generate the CSI feedback for the indicated set of CSI processes, and transmit the CSI feedback to the eNB in a CSI report.
Abstract:
Examples are disclosed for sending or receiving channel state information (CSI) reports associated with coordinated multi-point (CoMP) schemes. The examples include user equipment (UE) constraining CSI feedback to one or more transmission points implementing a CoMP scheme with the UE. The examples also include a transmission point such as an evolved node B (eNB) triggering CSI feedback and receiving a CSI report in response to the trigger. The CSI report generated based on the UE constraining CSI feedback. Constraining CSI feedback may include the UE generating fewer CSI reports, reusing information between CSI reports or increasing an amount of time allowed for processing and generating CSI reports. Other examples are described and claimed.
Abstract:
Technology for periodic channel state information (CSI) reporting from a user equipment (UE) configured for carrier aggregation is disclosed. One method can include the UE generating a plurality of periodic CSI reports for transmission in a subframe for a plurality of CSI processes, wherein each periodic CSI report corresponds to a CSI process with a CSI process index. A single periodic CSI report from the plurality of periodic CSI reports may be selected to multiplex with a hybrid automatic repeat request-acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) feedback. The periodic CSI report multiplex with the HARQ-ACK feedback and any scheduling request (SR) may be determined to have a bit size less than or equal to a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) format 3 maximum payload bit size. The periodic CSI report multiplexed with the HARQ-ACK feedback and any SR may be transmitted to a serving cell.
Abstract:
Technology is discussed for mitigating interference in a wireless communication environment where adjacent cells can have asynchronous Time Division Duplexing configurations. Measurements can be taken at an illuminated evolved Node B (eNodeB) of DownLink (DL) transmissions from a transmit eNodeB. These measurements can be relayed to the transmit eNodeB over a backhaul link and used to make scheduling, transmission power, and/or beam forming decisions to reduce the potential for DL interference. To reduce UpLink (UL) interference, sub-frame specific measurements can be requested by a transmit eNodeB of a User Equipment (UE) that would receive DL transmission from the transmit eNodeB to detect interference from any UEs performing UL transmission to an adjacent eNodeB. The interference measurements can be used by the transmit eNodeB to make scheduling determinations to mitigate the interference.
Abstract:
Briefly, in accordance with one or more embodiments, a conventional physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) is transmitted in a first region of a physical downlink control channel structure utilized by a remote radio head that has been assigned a cell identifier that is common to one or more other remote radio heads within the cell, and an enhanced physical downlink control channel (ePDCCH) is transmitted in a second region of the physical downlink control channel structure.
Abstract:
Embodiments of a mobile device transmitter and methods for transmitting signals in different signal dimensions are generally disclosed herein. The mobile device transmitter comprises a mapper to map a block of two or more input modulation symbols to different signal dimensions comprising two or more spatial dimensions, and linear transform circuitry to perform a linear transform on the block of mapped input modulation symbols to generate a block of preceded complex-valued output symbols such that each output symbol carries some information of more than one input modulation symbol. The mobile device also comprises transmitter circuitry to generate time-domain signals from the blocks of precoded complex-valued output symbols for each of the spatial dimensions for transmission using the two or more antennas. The precoded complex-valued output symbols are mapped to different signal dimensions comprising at least different frequency dimensions prior to transmission.
Abstract:
Briefly, in accordance with one or more embodiments, a midamble for a downlink subframe is generated by rotating an order of midamble tones per antenna between two or more subbands. A Golay sequence may be utilized in the modulation of one or more subcarriers of the midamble via a reuse-3 arrangement. Alternatively, a reuse-1 arrangement may be applied to the midamble.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for determining a channel quality indicator (CQI) to be used in link adaptation for Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) communications. In one embodiment of the invention, the CQI is based on a set of capacity values for subcarrier components in a received OFDM signal. In another embodiment, a minimum value from a running average of the set of capacity values is used to determine the CQI.
