Abstract: A system captures and displays video of surgeries. The system may include at least one digital image sensor optically coupled to one or more lenses and configured to capture a video sequence of a scene in a surgery; at least one interface configured to receive at least one region on interest (ROI) of the captured video sequence; an electronic display, selected so that at least one of the digital image sensors has a pixel resolution which is substantially greater than the pixel resolution of the electronic display; and a computer processor configured to: receive the at least one captured video sequence and the at least one received ROI and display over the at least one electronic display a portion of the captured video sequence based on the at least one selected ROI.

Abstract: Head wearable display (HWD) systems and methods of display reliability verification with respect to the HWD operated by a user are provided, which comprise tracking a position and orientation (P&O) of the HWD relative to hardware element(s) at known position(s), which are selected from a surroundings of the user and are visible to the user through the HWD, calculating position(s) of the hardware element(s) with respect to the HWD, and displaying, in the HWD and according to the calculated position(s), verification symbol(s) that correspond to the hardware element(s). Display reliability verification may be carried out automatically using a camera and an image processing module, optionally with an additional illuminator, which compares the element(s)'s captured locations with the element (s)'s expected location according to the tracking, and indicates possible discrepancies. Discrepancy identification may be used to initiate a correction process or to indicate the presented symbology to be unreliable.

Abstract: Method for verifying registration of a model of an internal-body-part with the internal-body-part in a reference coordinate system. The internal-body-part is at least partially unseen directly by a user. The method includes the procedures of continuously determining a position and orientation of a head-mounted-display in the reference coordinate system, determining a display location of at least one virtual marker, and displaying the virtual marker according to the display location. The display location of the virtual marker is determined according to the expected position of a respective at least one reference point relative to the head-mounted-display. The reference point is directly visible to the user. The relative position between the reference point and the internal-body-part is substantially constant. The position of the reference point in the reference coordinate system is predetermined. When the model and the internal-body-part are effectively registered, the reference point and corresponding virtual marker appears visually in alignment.

Abstract: Aircraft system and method detecting and present information relating to adverse airborne phenomena along an aircraft flight route. An imaging unit that includes an IR detector and a tunable spectral filter acquires IR images of the external environment, by acquiring wideband IR images when operating in a second mode. A data analysis unit detects and determines characteristics of adverse airborne phenomena in the environment based on at least the spectral signatures of environmental features in the acquired narrowband IR images. A display unit dynamically displays a visual representation of the detected adverse airborne phenomenon and its determined characteristics, overlaid onto a view of the external environment displayed to an operator of the aircraft. The visual representation may include variable visual attributes representing respective categories of characteristics of the detected adverse airborne phenomenon.

Abstract: System and method for determining the position and orientation (P&O) of a tool-tip relative to an eye tissue of interest. The system includes and imaging and tracking module coupled with a processor. The imaging and tracking module at least includes an imager. The imager acquires at least one image of at least one tissue-reference-marker. The imaging and tracking module further determines information relating to the P&O of the tool. The processor determines the P&O of the tissue-reference-marker according to the acquired image of the tissue-reference-marker. The processor determines the P&O of the eye tissue of interest, according to the P&O of the tissue-reference-marker, and a predetermined relative P&O between the tissue-reference-marker and the eye tissue of interest. The processor also determines the P&O of a tool-tip according to a tool-marker and determines the relative P&O between the tool-tip and the eye tissue of interest.

Abstract: A first thermal management approach involves an air flow through cooling mechanism with multiple airflow channels for dissipating heat generated in a PCA. The air flow direction through at least one of the channels is different from the air flow direction through at least another of the channels. Alternatively or additionally, the airflow inlet of at least one channel is off-axis with respect to the airflow outlet. A second thermal management approach involves the fabrication of a PCB with enhanced durability by mitigating via cracking or PTH fatigue. At least one PCB layer is composed of a base material formed from a 3D woven fiberglass fabric, and conductive material deposited onto the base material surface. A conductive PTH extends through the base material of multiple PCB layers, where the CTE of the base material along the z-axis direction substantially matches the CTE of the conductive material along the x-axis direction.
