Abstract:
This subject invention features a robot deployed weapon system. A remotely controlled mobile robot has a weapon mounted to the robot. There is a firing circuit for the weapon and a weapon interrupt module on board the robot. An operator control unit is for remotely operating the robot and the weapon. The operating control unit preferably includes a stop switch. Also, a separate operator module is in communication with the weapon interrupt module. Preferably, the operator module includes a kill switch. There are two communication links. The first communication link is between the operator control unit and the robot. This communication link is configured to safe the weapon if the stop switch is activated and/or the first communication link degrades. The second communication link is between the operator module and the weapon interrupt module. The communication link is configured to safe the weapon if the kill switch is activated and/or the second communication link degrades.
Abstract:
An antenna structure for providing a broadband circularly polarized radiation. The antenna structure comprises a feed line layer having an input portion and a first radiating patch layer stacked adjacent to the feed line layer. The feed line layer is shaped and dimensioned as an open loop having an input portion and signals are feedable to the feed line layer via the input portion. The first radiating patch layer has a reference origin defined thereon. The antenna structure also comprises a plurality of probes disposed between the feed line layer and the first radiating patch layer for coupling therebetween. The signals are feedable to the first radiating patch layer via the plurality of probes and each of the plurality of probes are positioned about the reference origin of the radiating patch layer along the length of the feed line layer. The signals achieve a phase difference for providing circularly polarized radiation in response to being fed via the plurality of probes being positioned about the reference origin of the radiating patch layer along the length of the feed line layer.
Abstract:
Methods support e-commerce and advertising through storefronts having respective sets of items for purchase. Items are added to storefronts by owners via a control panel module. Store owners are presented with a selection of items that were previously defined by that particular owner through the control panel module, and are selectively presented with a public subset of further items of storefronts of other owners. The owner inputs commands through the control panel to add at least one of the presented items to the particular storefront, and a database is updated accordingly. If the item belongs to another owner, the added item is associated with the other owner in the database. A payment transaction is completed by a visitor at the particular store, wherein any proceeds from the payment transaction are received by the website and then shared between the particular owner and the respective other owner.
Abstract:
A thermoplastic composition comprising a resinous blend of (A) aromatic polycarbonate and (B) polyester, (C) nanoclay and (D) carboxylic acid is disclosed. The composition features improved melt stability and impact strength over corresponding compositions that contain no acid. The nanoclay is present in an amount of 0.1 to 30 percent relative to the weight of the resinous blend, and the acid is present in an amount of 1 to 20 percent relative to the weight of the nanoclay. The average thickness of the clay particles is about 1 to 100 nm, and their average lengths and average widths, independently one of the other are 50 to 700 nm.
Abstract:
The performance of NMOS and PMOS regions of integrated circuits is improved. Embodiments of the invention include forming a first dielectric layer optimized for n-doped regions over the n-doped regions and forming a second dielectric layer optimized for p-doped regions over p-doped regions.
Abstract:
A reinforced thermoplastic molding composition is disclosed. The composition contains polycarbonate resin, nanoclay in an amount of 0.1 to 20 percent relative to the weight of the polycarbonate and carboxylic acid in an amount of 1 to 20 percent relative to the weight of the nanoclay. The composition is characterized by its improved thermal stability and impact strength.
Abstract:
A method of fabricating an electrical interconnect are provided. A first transparent dielectric layer is disposed on top of a support structure. A conductive circuit layer is plated above the first dielectric layer. Separate conductive layers are plated on top of the conductive circuit layer to produce conductive vias. A second transparent dielectric layer is disposed around the conductive layers. Contact tips are electrically connected to the top surface of the separate conductive layers. The interconnect may be visually aligned so that the contact tips brought into contact with target connections. In addition, the support structure may be partially removed to allow a flexible interconnect.
Abstract:
This invention discloses a semiconductor bulk acoustic resonator including at least one thin film piezoelectric layer positioned on a semiconductor substrate. The acoustic resonator includes a heating ring positioned around the outer perimeter of the piezoelectric layer in order to heat the piezoelectric layer to a desirable elevated temperature. A heat sensing film fabricated on the piezoelectric layer monitors the temperature of the piezoelectric layer such that the heating ring maintains the piezoelectric layer at a constant temperature. By this, an oscillator circuit using this semiconductor bulk acoustic resonator as the frequency controlling element can maintain a constant frequency over a wide range of temperatures which may affect frequency stability.
